I hope there's no auto demolition for having an island. Like an apartment. Also, I wish there was an ability in the future to send a friends request to our alts when they are offline, same with inviting offline alts to fcs.
love it! as a daily player, I like daily stuff to do. about to cap out the askadora's, and Im sad about that. I loved the farming thing in wow's MoP. if this begins to go in a more permeant direction of something, a building on firmament ideas, which I missed, Im super excited. thanks gentlemen!
FF11 had something like this. It could also be a little like Lost Ark's Stronghold.
For what it is, I like it, but to me this is a failure to fix the housing system. This was the one chance they had to add in instance housing on top of the system we already have, to remove the bone crushing problems the existing housing system has. They missed that chance.

Island crops do not include ESTATE CROPS. There's still havenots and haves in the game when this could have fixed that. Oh well. (I'll praise what we get when we get it, this is the time I'm going to be upset about it).
What I want to know, for the sake of my friend who plays on the free trial, does the "everyone" in "Everyone gets their own island" mean you have to progress in the MSQ until patch 6.2 to unlock it? Or will it be made available through 2.x?

They had this in XI lol.
This seems similar to what Blizzard did with WoD and the campaign base where you had to send minions out to gather materials, build up defense and resources that would help with your character in the PVE world but specific to the base itself and building it up and collecting your resources and rewards. At least from the little bit of info given so far.
ps. lol made this comment before the end of the video where its described as being like garrisons in WoD lol but not exactly since that was only within the WoD expansion and never grew beyond that.

World of Warcraft Garrison like?.. Chris you said that after I already had said it as well so we're thinking the same way.. by the way to this day on the few times that I subscribe to wow once in awhile I will visit my Garrison
so when this comes out why have a single player housing or apt?
As far as the ‘house’ we’ll be getting on the island, I suspect it’ll be more like the beast tribe quests, or maybe the domain enclave, rather than a free building kind of thing
this is insane.. its like a whole game within a game… they have to let people who dont have a house have a reason to collect housing items… and use them into island
