In this video, I’ll talk about some of the things I’m really enjoying about FF14, in the beginning, stages of the main story campaign.

  1. I'm glad people like the games they play… but I don't get this one. It's too cute for me. Too linear for me. The combat is ssooooo slowwww. Even the spell names are lazy. Fire 1/Fire 2/Fire 3. I guessed I only enjoyed JRPG's in the 8-bit days.

  2. It’s funny, I started playing ESO out of recommendation from my brother. And I truly enjoy it so far. The voice acting, the lore, the world. It’s different and fun, plus I’m thoroughly enjoying the combat system. Granted I’m only level 24 so I can’t speak on endgame.
Knowing I have a mass amount of solo content I can do to try out unique builds sounds interesting too.

  3. The requirement to level up a second class to unlock a Job (i.e. Leveling up Marauder to 15 for Dragoon) was removed in the previous expansion, Stormblood. I do agree that leveling and playing other Classes/Jobs is fun (I have all classes above lvl 70) and easier than WoW.

  4. They actually removed all of the cross classing requirements to unlock other jobs, so as soon as you hit 30 on a class you can start playing as the job. also very small storage space tip, if you're planning on leveling multiple of a role any time soon to each other, keep them near the same level bc all the roles but melee DPS share gearsets, all tanks, healers, ranged and mages only need 1 set of gear so leveling them together will let you just sell the lower end gear and not stuff your inventory

  5. Speaking of armor and details, I like how the material textures on the armor are very notable and not just a plain looking colored pieces. We can see clearly which part has the texture made of cloth, leather, scales or metal. Added with the wet effects when we are in the rain.

  6. I think one of the things that is worth pointing out on FF14 is that if you have completed quests or dungeons in certain order NPCs will recognize you and address you as an acquaintance even in a few lines of dialog. This imo gives weight on the presence of your character in the world which I find really cool.

  7. What? leveling marauder to get Dragoon? Eee… no. That's not in the game. You just pick a job and do quests, then you get dragoon. No other requirements. You had to read some old news. Otherwise, all good. Welcome in Eorzea 😉

  9. It never made sense to me that in WoW as a Paladin you could not simply pick up an axe or goto a warrior trainer and learn how that works. Why couldn't a holy paladin train with the Shaman guild and learn how to heal through nature?

  11. The things important you clearly said in the game being that the game tells you the story of the world or events by playing through it and you becoming that centerpiece. You don’t feel like you need to go outside the game to learn the history of the realm and it’s people. You actually feel and care for the people you meet and prominently interact with, even when you feel the loss of a character that end up weighing on you. It’s not about constant state of War as in WoW. You feel for the realm and the people in FF14.

  12. What makes the doors such an engaging little detail is how you don't always know which ones will open and reveal a little nook for you to explore. It's a fun way to add some surprise and depth to an area.

  13. Some developers do not like doors, as it can cause issues with game design and implementation. That being said, some AAA games have had doors for years, so it is doable.

But, since WoW started with no doors, they are probably going to keep it that way.
