The Warriors of Darkness seem cliche at first, but they are a solid take on the evil counterpart trope in Final Fantasy XIV. Let’s explore their chapters of the story beginning with Branden’s tragic tale of duty and sacrifice in Shadowbringers.

They try to pretty much destroy the world just to save theirs because they screwed up so badly
The dwarf was my favorite by far
in order:
Healer
Tank
Magic DPS
Ranged/Melee DPS
This was the quality I was expecting! You didn't gloss over anything. Wonderful job, Stout
This was my favorite role quest in Shadowbringers, it was very close between the Tank quest and Healer but the tie breaker for me was the Tank solo fight at the end was one of my favorite fights I've done. So it ends as Tank, Healer, Magical DPS, and Physical DPS
I will be waiting for the lala storyline ;w;
I cry…
I play a male roegadyn tank, so I really enjoyed the tank role questline with Branden.
I was so excited to see there was finally an NPC with my name and then 5 secs later JK SHE DEAD :c
yay so happy youre doing the warriors of darkness!!!
Thank you for this, these character backstories are so unique I wanna learn ‘‘em all even if I can’t remember every detail
This is a good story.
These backstories are utterly miserable
I think you make the best FFXIV Story videos. Probably.
For those interested in more lore surrounding the plot that Branden was involved in with princess Sauldia in old Voeburt, there is also a short story on the official site (Tales from the Shadows – Small Mercies) that runs adjacent of that history involving Sauldia's sister. Anyone who has done some a-rank hunts in Shadowbringers might recognise her, since her name was Pauldia.
Edit: Also, the attack by Branson the sin-eater on Wright is referenced to in many quests along the main story and the sidequests that unlock flying in Kholusia/lead to the dwarf beast-tribe unlock. It is where the (current) Mystal mayor of the town lost his wife, his talos and, later on, his best friend; the at the time mayor who bore the blame for the attack and ended his own life in shame.
I absolutely LOVE your videos. I was so confused by so many things because i'm big dumb but you've completely helped me understand wtf is going on in the story. Thank you!
I can't wait for the others.
Great video. that one of the role quest I still have to do.
I enjoyed the healer quest line the most
I hope they make spin-off game for them like FF7 Crisis Core.
I also want to see The First in it prime from their eyes too.
Just as I was looking for a video discussing Ardbert, I find that you upload part 1 of of a Warriors of Darkness series (presumably). Awesome work with this one friend.
Does it just pisses you off that Branden got one of the best and better Paladin job quest line than we all do ?
I teared up at each WoD side story, but Brendan's hit me the hardest outside of Ardbert. He was genuinely the blueprint hero who just wanted to right and protect who meant the most to him.
Ohhhh this series is going to be really good. Looking forward to part 2!
Haven't even watched the video yet but had to say great idea! More of this please.
Your video really knows how to hit the spot. Every release just intrigues me even more.
I've always wondered. If the First was fully consumed by the Flood of Light, would the Source have eventually been invaded by Sin Eaters
Well my fav is oc Ardbert, then the BLM !
I preferred the Physical DPS role quest the most but damn if the the Healer Role Questline didn't hit me in the feels
