Final Fantasy 14: The Story So Far

Thinking about jumping into Final Fantasy 14 for the first time but have no idea what’s going on? We’ve got you covered. Here’s the entire FF14 story so far, which encompasses one complete overhaul, three expansions and a whole lot of crystals.

Final Fantasy XIV was first released back in 2010, but was met with negative response and in turn, had its servers taken offline. The game returned under a new name, now dubbed “A Realm Reborn” and has gone on to become one of the most popular MMORPGs of all time. Now, seven years later, FFXIV has three major expansions — Heavenswards, Stormblood, Shadowbringers — and a fourth — Endwalker — which is slated for this year.

FF14 is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4. A PlayStation 5 version recently went into open-beta with a full release planned for later 2021.

  1. Thinking about jumping into Final Fantasy 14 for the first time but have no idea what's going on? We've got you covered. Here's the entire FF14 story so far so YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME ANYMORE. That's right, see this video, skip the game! Well done IGN!

  2. It's awesome how IGNaze steals trailers et informations all over the net, to publish videos that are useless. When I'm looking for a trailer, I always find an IGN version, the guys are only living by stealing videos from studios and editors, I can only laugh when I see their "work".

  4. Thank you for the spoiler. I'm not going to wait for this game to be out on all platforms like Xbox. Besides me life is in the 2nd Era in Elder Scrolls Online and I put my life amd work in there.

  5. You also just play it since it’s free up to level 60 and covers the base game and the first expansions 🤷‍♂️

Also this won’t let you just jump to the latest expansion as you’ll have to play through all of it anyway unless you want to pay an extra $40 to skip everything by but you are really screwing yourself over.

  6. …Square/Enix games always make 0 sense… at least when it comes to the rationalization of protagonist's behavior, that is…

MUST SAVE WORLD! GODDESS OF LIGHT SAID SO! DO EVERYTHING THEY TELL ME TO! BAD GUY BAD! NOT A TRAP! NO WORRIES!

    It's like…….. /walloftext

    Not linear.

Indeed, as for all the peoples clamoring not to "spoiler" the story, are but a cult trying to hide this truth. The evangelical "selling point" that you have to spend months playing MSQ in order to "appreciate" the product sounds like definition of fraud to me.

…but it has cat/bunny/loli, so no matter.

Is the delivery really good in the game or did this guy just really butcher it?

  9. Is there any reason why every word of this video was consolidated into a single sentence that was blurted out faster than an auctioneer? Even at .75% playback speed this rant is nearly unintelligible.

  10. Idk. Yeah the story was great in heavenward and the latest expansion was decent. But I can't ever play again because of the insane queue times to group up, boring ass leveling, and horrendous amounts of dreadful dialogue cutscenes.

I can't understand how people can enjoy it.

Only part I really enjoyed was the raiding and combat. But there is literally nothing else for me to do while between raids. The rep grinds are boring AF when you could simply queue for dungeons. Dungeons. Dungeons. Just repeat the dungeons.

  11. This was good just to get a gist. I absolutely love this game but don't know much if anything about the story because it's so long. I wanted to get to the end-game content. So midway through heavensward I gave up on watching cutscenes and reading the quest dialogue. And I started to watch the "Unending Journey" but that's become tedious as well. I really wanna learn the story because I hear it's really good. But I don't have the motivation to sit and read through all that.
