Another tip for Rathalos phase 1, as a melee. If you're always standing on HIS left foot, none of his aoes will ever hit you. All of the aoes hit his right/front/back, but not complete left.
Phase 2, just don't be infront of him.
Bro I swear there is NO cure for single target Doton sometimes. Some days I genuinely consider writing and sending a letter to Square Enix HQ begging them to hardcode something into the game that disables the possibility of using Doton if there's only 1 enemy on the aggro table lol
