  1. Hey guys! Let me know what you think of the format of these kinds of videos! I know I could probably polish them a bit more with a script but something appeals to me about just sitting down and talking to the camera freestyle. I tried to add some music and visual aids this time too! What do you want to see next?

And I hope some of you will consider joining me on my adventure! Streaming daily on Twitch!

  2. Another good video and fun to hear your view on these things, I really do love that in FFXIV you can have everything on one character, but that said, i do love making alts, but thats also more for RP reasons, more fun to have abit of every race to me, everything else i hard agree with, Loving the fact one can notice how postive you get from all the postive vibes, very happy for you, always sending lots of love and support your way, will allways support my boy, The Russywussy

  3. Fun fact about the magitek armor mount that you get: the original music was the same generic that you get for some mounts. It wasn't until after (and a petition from players) before it was changed to the FF6 theme

  4. i have tried to get into ffxiv ever since the relaunch but it just not as good as an mmorpg as wow. sure the story is great, but as the game progresses you spend more time watching the game play out than you do interacting with it. combat in wow continues to be better – more reactive, more intuitive, faster without being actual action combat.

there are a lot of great social things going on in ffxiv, but that part of the game has never appealed to me. i play mmorpgs to gain player power. games like gw2 and eso and others with a horizontal progression suck when you were raised on the everquest-like mmorpg gamestyle – start out weak, end up a god. i could care less about transmog or housing or trying to bring the real world into my game.

i have played every mmorpg ever released in the west including most trash korean garbage but WoW is the one i go back to the most often. I have lifetimes in lotro and sto and others but i only visit them every other year or so.

  6. Synced, min ilevel, no-echo Coils is really hard. Your mate Psybear ended up doing a couple of the turns just synced.
It's more about the story than who has the biggest… well, you know.
I love the lack of addons. That said, I'm well aware that a lot of FFXIV's QoL features have been 'inspired by' addons that players have been caught and banned for using, so much gratitude for their sacrifice.

  7. FFXIV absolutely does have gameplay addons, its just in a very different way to WoW, and more people use them than you think. The only reason you dont hear about the dalamud launcher is because people dont want to get banned.

But its more than cosmetic, it adds so much QoL such as chat bubbles, UI enhancements, bug fixes, and even fixes bad ping. Addons that make fights easier do exist too such as Cactbot , but they are discouraged and the attitude towards them is that they cheapen fights.

Also parsing is a big one that gets used.

All this info is for educational use only, I do not endorse addons Yoshi P

  8. The first point of always being able to swap to a new job on the same character is a valid one, and since you haven't experienced it yourself yet I can understand why you didn't think of this, but gearing in this game is so atrocious it's long and tedious to even gear up multiple jobs at all. That's just my two cents on the matter though, been loving your streams

  9. As someone who's not played FFXIV enough to understand the differences, I've never clicked on a video so damn fast! Thanks for the insight, great video Russ! ❤️

  10. It's also important to know what FFXIV does better now compared to when ARR first launched. The job system and skills were totally different, attribute points were a thing so you could control base stats as you leveled, and much more. Some hardcore players say they've dumbed down the game to make it more appealing for the masses but overall it's been positive changes. Needing to level both a Thaumaturge and an Archer to unlock Black Mage was a pain when I first started.

  11. The thing is, a lot of FF14 raiders still feel the need to use alts because of the weekly loot lockout, which makes it hard to gear multiple jobs in raid gear, especially if you don't win your rolls and get stuck having to buy gear with the pity books.

  12. FF player, I never knew WoW had a mod like that which was nessisary for raids. That would drive me absolutely mad.
Part of the reason why 14 has fewer mods is because of the console players; there's no way for them to get mods and don't want them left out. One of the things they showed at fanfest that will be coming in Dawntrail, was something that would allow you to draw raid diagrams in game so you won't need to use your phone ect to check positioning in high end content because it will be in game and can be easily shared

  13. I played other mmos, also wow and now I just started ffxiv.
I'm impressed how ff really made me immerse into the story, still have to finish a realm reborn, but I already like it. But not only the story, also the atmosphere, the music, the dialogues that are really well written in a real rp style, sometimes poethic and refined (and I hope they will stay like this) and so on, everything seems really a rp game. Also leveling is great, I don't feel like I have to do all these things like a job to finally arrive to actual content, the content is already there and playing is really relaxing for me.

I like the thing that you can do all jobs in one character, I really like that there is this option even if I would also like just some little alt friendly stuff cause sometimes I play other characters to change point of view, race ect without having to change my main, but it's just my thing of course ^^

Last thing I want to say about how happy I am about ffxiv (actually there are a lots, but I already wrote a pome in this comment 😆) is the addon thing. I tried to play tank in wow and I was so disappointed that I had to have addons fro raids. I personally (personally) didn't want addons also for a matter of principle, if I buy a game that is done and finished I should be able to access to all the contents of that game and not be forced to install other things, third party and so on, in general addons should be something more, not a mandatory thing to play.
    Thanks for the video!

  14. In regards to treatment of sprouts… I make it one of my lifes goals in FF14 to help sprouts. I spend my free time running around cities looking for new players and ill give them minons or other items and help answer any questions they have or show them anything they want to see or what ever i can to help them have a more enjoyable experience. I think there are many players like myself who just have a hobby of helping sprouts. Most players were sprouts once and were helped by someone and just want to return the favor, thats the kind of people ff14 makes, careing souls. And you can chalk a lot of that up to the story making us feel that way. Good writing makes for better people. There are a lot of great life lessons in FF14 and we the warrior of light have seen all sorts of people and it makes us want to be better people like our Warrior of Light. 15. I played quite a bit of maplestory back on the day and not having to make a new character everytime a class comes out is a God send. Before I quit in 2013ish I had OVER 40 characters on my account leveled up to 150+

  16. love you mate, but as a former wow player from mid tbc till nathria, i have to disagree about wow´s story. its pointless since mop. they changed the core lore so damn often, so much stories never got an end and in general theres nothing to be shocked or hyped about. its blend and boring at best. and i guess its ok, since wow turned into some kind of moba almost 100% focused around m+.
laughed with the glimpse of a tear when i heard what happened with sylvanas at the end of the last expansion. its so boring and pathetic.

  17. My only criticism for the nightclubs is that, unfortunately, their users completely flood the party finder on the data center I'm on which makes it almost impossible to find groups for content. If they stayed in their lane I wouldn't be bothered with them, but between the excessive shout chat spam and their determination to use the partyfinder to promote their activity, it has soured them for me a little bit haha.

All your other points though are solid!

  18. Appreciate you sharing your experience between both. I haven't played WoW since Battle of Azeroth mid expansion had stepped away from the game, but was playing since Classic first released back in 2004. But when ARR was first released I had played it and had played it on and off, but came back fully when Shadowbringer came out and never stopped since then. I have the same feelings as you with your points you made. I'm glad to see you enjoying FFXIV and looking forward to you sharing your experiences of the MSQ & other content in FFXIV.
