end game crafting is not end, they release resplendent tool in patch 5.5 that require alot of expert crafting recipe to exchange for these tool

I tried to start ffxiv during heavensward but I couldn't get into it because I was still heavily invested into wow at the time. I think the ideal way to get into it is taking a break from MMOs or if you've never played an MMO. It's a solo friendly game that has plenty of opportunity to play with a group.
I would say that the big difference as to why many mythic raiders do not consider savage/ultimate on par is because of the telegraph system. However I'd argue that if you're using a script to do Mythic/Mythic+ (to call out the mechanics) you're pretty much on the same par with Savage/Ultimate in XIV. The only difference is the mechanic shuffle each dev team uses.
You can still PUG savage content. There are alot of streamers that dont have statics that have cleared tiers in only Party Finder with randoms.
Wow should be afraid of FFXIV…
