10,000 Hours of FFXIV | How It Feels Now

After 10,000 Hours of gameplay i put together a video covering my thoughts on the game. I dont know who reads this but i actually love Asmongold, I really wish he would play some more FFXIV, and I feel like im still waiting for his final thoughts after a full playthrough.

I would like to thank ChewieMelodies for allowing me to use his Endwalker Sountrack Cover here is a link to his youtube page –https://www.youtube.com/@UCkbZZsBpZ7VLykAIDhKvAmA

This is my first video game review and I would love to do more, let me know what you guys think in the comments and especially let me know if you want me to cover in detail certain aspects of FFXIV.

  1. Asmongold played FFXIV because it was trending. His chat had suggested he check it out before that, but he wasn't interested. Not until the YT algorithm said he should be.
As soon as XIV stopped trending, suddenly other games – all of which just happened to be trending at the time – became his priority.
All the while, he was saying he'd go back to FFXIV… just to keep those fans waiting for him to on the line.

Now that he no longer has to pretend to like FFXIV, he's back to bashing its graphics, combat, etc.

And it wasn't only Asmon. It was rather eye-opening to me to see how many larger creators are just as much slaves to the algorithm. Any time a new release comes out, I see the same big names streaming them, pretending to enjoy them… until the algorithm says it's time to move on… then they're pretending to enjoy the next big thing.

    It's pretty gross.

  2. "I feel like I am playing my character, I feel like I am my character, like I put up another persona" – this is my definition of FFXIV experience. And my character helped me to become better person in real life.

  4. I have around 7k hours and i have to say this about the community. it is marginally nicer than any other MMO I've played, but like you said they do tend be extra and when someone is an ass they will be an EXTRA ass. people sometimes feel they can say and do whatever they want, and because "hur dur we're a great community so you're being toxic by pointing this issue out" is a mindset sometimes you end up having to explain to people simple concepts…. in alliance raid for example, there's always that 1 clown who thinks they know better than everyone cause they read a reddit post, or assumes everyone is experienced and a FF14 veteran.

  5. This game is my first mmo and I was lucky enough to have friends that were playing it. It was nice going through the game with your buddies and they helped me a lot during my journey. Very excited for Dawntrail! Great video and I love how calmly you speak, everyone is so loud on yourube nowadays haha.

  6. I arrived as a WoW refugee to FF14, and it really opened my eyes to how poorly the devs at WoW treat their players.
FF14 may not be flawless, but at least I've never felt in this game that the devs are actively mocking me and only after my money.

  7. Nice to hear a review from someone also over 40. I was always put off by sub only games unless the sub was cheap. I can honestly say it's worth the money. The fact that Yoshi considers this his legacy is likely a huge reason why there is care in it and Square is thankfully hands off. That said the core game isn't really good and it's really hard to get someone to mandatory invest the time to reach the parts that have some of the best writing in any RPG.

  8. started as a male roegadyn cuz I'm into thicc buff dudes
    3:30 supports my statement đŸ€©

Animation delay is really annoying yes, the game resolves an "instant" action only after its animation finishes. So that tank invulnerability goes on cooldown but you still died is why 💀
Meanwhile FF11 MMO actions actually resolve instantly even beforr the animation finishes, go figure lol

  9. I really appreciate that this game allows you to play at your own pace with little to no FOMO. It's made me enjoy that game so much more especially because I don't really have as much time for gaming as I used to. I remember last year getting back into Call of Duty briefly and was annoyed at how much stuff goes away after a certain period of time, so I found myself playing it just because I didn't want to miss out rather than because I wanted to play it. I stopped playing pretty quickly afterwards.
