  1. 1. You're trying to make an abhorrent beast.
    2. You're trying to make an ugly character.
    3. You're trying to scare people.
    4. You're trying to make a joke character.
    5. You're obscenely drunk.
    6. You're creating your character after ingesting suspicious mushrooms.
    7. You literally do not care what your character looks like.
    8. You forgot to wear your glasses or have severely impaired vision even with them.
    9. You want to stand out so badly that you'll play as one of these unfortunate creatures.
    10. All of the above.

  2. I've played a Femelezen ever since I started. Never have noticed the neck thing. Part of the reason was that when I started on the trial back in 2019, the only races trial players could pick from were Hyur, Elezen, and Lalafell. But now, I'm so attached to her as my WoL… Best choice ever! Plus, after meeting a certain mother of certain twins, I immediately decided that my WoL was her long lost twin sister (and therefore the twins' long lost aunt – which is why the girl twin looks up to her so much… And yes, I know their names, just avoiding them for ppl who haven't played the game yet).

  4. My first character was a Male Miqo, but it didn’t take much time for me to switch a Male Duskwight and I’ve never looked back. Playing a Duskwight in Gridania just makes things more immersive, especially once you learn the lore, even more in the lancer quests. And yes, as an Elezen and a Dragoon main, Heavensward is my favorite expansion, although Shadowbringers and Endwalker are tied for second. I’m definitely biased since Ishgard and Dravania play a huuuge part in my boy’s story, but there’s something to be said about teleporting back to a city-state and getting the “I’m home,” feeling.

  6. I am a bit of an anomaly, so I'm not sure I'll correlate with the others much.
I have a female seeker of the moon miqo'te character (I think I've described her on the miqo'te vid), and my top 2 expansions narrative wise is stormblood followed by shadowbringers.
This is despite me hating the main villain of StB, and thinking his reprise in EW should've never happened.
As for HW – I was a SCH main at the time (at the time SCH was still fun to play) – and the scenario had 3 moments that completely shattered my immersion; for me those moments just kind of overshadow the good parts of the whole expansion.
I detest being made useless and helpless during cutscenes (aka cutscene paralysis) for no reason other than the story demands it, they managed to avoid doing anything stupid again until Bozja, and yes, it ruined Bozja's story for me too.

  7. I fantaed into a duskwight elezen well over a year ago and I’ll never go back. Being a duskwight makes me feel like a shiny pokemon with how rarely I see others of my type. I just love my elezen boy too much. XD

  8. I'm not sure it's hard to create a good-looking Elezen, I don't think I was trying that hard but she ended up cute. I agree with you about making armor look good, she's kind of a fashion plate.

  9. I started playing FFXIV around 2 months ago as Miqo'Te (of course I chose catgirl!) and since when I received phial of fantasia from MSQ, I've been thinking about changing race to Elezen… Well, long story short – I watched the video and now – finally – I'm running around as Elezen!

  10. I’m new to Final Fantasy XIV. (So far I love the game!)
I just got the game in February, and I’ll be honest, the first thing I chose was Elezen, a Duskwight Elezen to be exact! I didn’t have any reason, I just thought it looked better for my character. Plus I wanted to try Black Mage and thought a Duskwight Elezen would fit the part. Little did I know that I chose one of the rarest kinds in the game. I still to this day have not seen another Duskwight. And I’m also the only Elezen in my entire Free Company. So yeah, you start to feel how unique you are when you are an Elezen. Especially a Duskwight one like me!
I love this video! I think it’s perfect to show people that Elezen’s shouldn’t be given such a bad rap! They are very cool looking and in my (biased) opinion, they are one of the most unique looking races in FFXIV.
    (First goes to Lalafell obviously!)

  11. Thank you for calling out the neck thing. It is an issue on ALL races, not just Elezen. (It's because they put the bone to move the neck smack dab in the middle.)
