Today the 22nd September, I created my character in FFXIV and brought chaos through my trolling! But how did it all start? How do I feel about the game after a year of almost playing it non-stop? WILL I EVER STOP BEING A LALAFELL? (The answer is no)

  5. the socializing aspect of 14 is actually extremely alive and healthy.

    it's the RP scene. and no i dont mean the weirdos in limsa.

    a couple days ago i went to an ingame theater, run by players, who presented Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. not just read it, it was the full stage play with the script slightly modified to make it lore friendly, so instead of the coast of Sicily they say the coast of vylbrand and some such.

    and that's just ONE group, there's casinos, bar and cafes, restaurants too, for instance one named "hell's kitchen" and the owner is, yes, a lalafell named gordon ramsay who would go on ranty tirades every time someone messes up. one of my FC mates decided to send a dish back because it was bland, oh boy that night was interesting.

    how about the Open RP nights some rp groups put together? we either go to a venue or choose a spot in the game to gather, usually in an open map, and stay there for hours talking in character about adventures and places and history/lore.

    I personally like treating MSQ roulettes as faux disney rides; and treat everyone to a slightly propagandistic garlean view of the grandeur of their achievements, people tend to have a good time with it.

    I promise the social aspect in 14 is really healthy. It's the most vibrant i've seen in my entire gaming life. It is unfortunately a bit sullied by a very loud minority of ERPers and people who troll the ERPers. But the real scene is something to behold, there's several thousands of us, and now that DC hopping is a thing the community is larger than ever. So please, if you want to see what the social aspect of 14 is capable of, join any RP group or ask around what venues will open any day you want to join in, a few shouts in limsa will net you the info you need
