Don't be a weakness William!
I´m not that scared of the raids. I'm most afraid of the other players.
what a cool cat. Gonna try some ex trials!
John Pandaemonium's pearly white teeth are what scares me, actually.
THE BECOME LEGEND!
I'm scared of pf. Hardest ultimate mechanic
Criterion mentioned but Moko the Restless not shown ): Otherwise, banger vid! 100% agree with the prog mentality you talked about, hopefully it's something that other people pick up!
I feel so bad for people who started raiding this tier bc if they add actual dps checks next expac.. most of them won't see it coming and might just quit
to this day i’m still 100% convinced that Alphinaud is not ready for savage. my boy can barely handle pulls in trust dungeons 😀
My top 1# reason is the randoms. I've done some Savage raiding and like out of 10 of them I got 4 where there were total dicks people in the party, one of they literally bullied me to leaving cause I missed the last mec in P9S (obs: it was a prog pf). I know there are lots of very kind people in PFs and most are 'normal', but these toxic few make me never want to do it again.
banger vid
I was barely a boy when I started watching this man, now I am a triple legend. I recommend the rinon method to anyone.
Ive tried PFing UwU, but with my lack of knowledge on the fight as well as groups that disband constantly, i just fell off of trying
This is a fantastic video! I have many friends I've tried to get into harder content, but they find it too intimidating. Thanks for helping put words to expectations that usually go unsaid ^^
honestly I just watched this video as a seasoned raider just for the analytics and because I think that your content is great and something I would be proud to show new players.
but i don't have the attention span, will, commitment, motivation, mindset, tenacity and determination to do ultimate.
Since i view most dungeons and raids as puzzles… I REALLLY don't like watching or reading guides, i want to do things blind, and find out how they work on my own terms. for old content this is almost impossible without a group willing to do it with you, and even for current content, if you aren't part of that first group progging through them, it becomes much more difficult to do things blind as time goes on. I really enjoy doing the raids and the savages, but doing thing through PF is actually pretty difficult at the end of the day. so to do savages and ex you really need a static group… but good luck getting 48 causal peeps to run DR(savage) blind. that's probably not happening. and the groups that do it are very… uh… "unwelcoming" from what i've found.
I started doing Savage and Ultimates at the beginning of Endwalker. I was a Shadowbringers baby who loves playing DRK and was too stubborn to do anything else. But I decided to try taking the plunge into the hard content and boy did I learn so much! It took my group 8 weeks to clear the first tier, but we slowly improved and cleared the second tier in 4. And the third was dead in 3. In that time I slowly learned how to play DRK much more proficient and to be more active as well as learn to play other jobs! I’ve also become a quad legend as of now, penta very soon once I clear UCOB.
My lack of ability was obvious when I first started but now looking back at how I was then to how I am now I can see the improvement! My advice to anyone wanting to start is you CAN do it 100% as long as you have the want to learn and improve! If I can do it, then anyone can!
Thank you for nodding towards the disabled crowd! I wept clearing uwu for the first time, as someone who plays with their feet, and am excited for the future. Hoping fru might be the stepping stone between tea and dsr, but if not, do you think jumping to dsr from current tier savage/uwu to dsr would be alright?
Thx for guide my beloved super raider!
"Make sure you understand the mechanic rather than just learning your spots."
1000% true
Great video as always!
I started playing during 2.2 and I remember having a lot of fun trying to clear Ultima's Ballad (though I wasn't successful) using party finder. Then HW came out, Bismarck, I don't know what the issue was, but getting the tank swap during the snakes was REALLY tough for me. Eventually, got to try Thordan EX and that's when I gave up on trying to clear EXs during the same expansion, only with Echo during future expacs… Plus I just really struggle remembering fights with a lot of mechanics. For whatever reason I could handle Normal Exdeath no problem during Omega, but other fights my brain just… forgets.
The worst part in pf raiding in Aether is the trap groups that will say prog point 4, but you see them super struggling on prog point 2 (which should be engrained in you mind at that point) and if the group survives to lockout you might see prog point 4 a couple of times.
I dunno how common this is across DCs and Worlds, but when I go into PF looking for people clearing old content I often see the same faces a lot. It's fun to run into familiar names as you go through clearing fights even if I'm not very chatty – specially if those people are clearly trying to perform well and not being salty and weird. My experiences trying current content in PF haven't been as great, but clearing the backlog has been a great time!
hmm, very interesting, but I would still want to see a discussion about 3rd party "addons" maybe?
I've done it a little backwards but in terms of raiding I'm still so new. I will say I'm incredibly comfortable with my class, but with DNC I can't turn off my monitor for my opener :') RNG make brain go brr
Spite is one hell of a drug it’s gotten me through pf p3s (my first raid series as a healer) when I was ready to quit. I’m not now a triple legend! DSR was my first to be cleared I was so proud of myself and I could finally see I improved as a player. I’m now working on TOP!
Just started playing on Xbox. I accidentally readied on the duty finder for an Ultimate not realizing what was about to happen.
Let’s just say, after wiping 4 times I chickened out of the duty and just logged out with no explanation, feeling massively out of my depth.
I’ve not even attempted another since purely out of fear of disappointing someone else.
Your video just popped up on my feed so just gave it a watch. And you have confirmed my confirmation bias.
This level of content (look’s for me to be) is far too much effort for my level of skill at the moment after playing for just 3 weeks, but at least I now have some perspective on the task in general. Thanks.
As someone's who's first foray into high end content was Asphodelos, and just recently achieved pentalegend, I wish I had this guide starting out. The learning curve for even getting your foot in the door is honestly the hardest part, and you've managed to brilliantly summarize every single step and give some top tier advice along the way. I'm going to be sending this to everyone who tells me they want to try raiding for the rest of time.
when it first came out on PlayStation I always hated typing with the controller and found out that the ps3/4 accepts USB keyboards and I would use that to type while using the controller to play
