That is one ugly looking beard 😛
The same person owning the entire ward? I'm actually curious, does that really happen? Also congrats on 100k
I really do wish they'd let us interact with our alts more. I changed my main because I won a medium house in Aether on my alt. Started over on the character and had to level crafters and everything from scratch again. Over a year later and theres still some things I've done on that alt that I havent gotten around to on my new main yet. If I was able to just add my main I'd have left it alone and just made myself a tenant.
Diluting endgame content is exactly how you kill what's left of it.
There should be midcore content, content that's between EX and normal. But taking all of the content between EX and Savage and diluting it into 20 tiers is an absolutely terrible idea and all it will do is completely destroy player retention, all the while not really solving the problem.
That dead game MMO's housing sounds like Genshin's Teapot but with more data it can hold onto not accounting for being for mobile. Honestly, as much as I have a bit of value in the exclusivity of having housing as it is right now, being able to have more customizable housing using assets from the game in an instance sounds WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better.
But those games always have good potential, and always have good combat, then everything else becomes shit because of the monetization systems.
First bid for a house in FFXIV and I got it. It was just a small in the goblet, but I'm on Crystal DC I've never bid for a house more than once.
I understand the raid loot lockout and how an alt helps get around that. But how does that work with weekly tomestones?
The 30 people who lives and beathes current shitty housing is the one who dont want instance housing
My favorite gear dying system is in Black Desert, just remove the subscription element to it and just make that version standard and its perfect. It let's you choose a wide range of colors but also textures. You can take a leather set of armor and make it appear as if its made of polished thin steel, or a metal set and make it look like cloth, all via the dying system and you can do this to mount saddles as well.
Plus every single gear piece has like 10-20 parts you can separately dye.
This game’s devs have a special skill at making broken and convoluted systems.
That housing in the beginning made me think of Wildstar housing. It was great. I think I remember people made jumping puzzles too in their plots. And you could see other player's plots floating in the distance if I remember correctly? Might be wrong about that.
People saying FFXIV has spaghetti code so we can't have an armor collection is an excuse from the devs. Wow came out 2004, Guild Wars 2 came out 2012, and FFXIV ARR came out 2010. It's just hasn't been prioritized by Square.
i wouldnt mind if those kind of vids arent split into 2 parts, but portraits breaking if i recall in their beta vers. it was automated i think, why it isnt anymore i wonder
I dont care about instanced housing or not instanced housing… I just want to be able to log out in my house.. and log back in.. INSIDE my house… Thats all I want.. square please…
I've been hitting forums about this 8 years ago, and beards was one of my take, but I got flooded by feminist that hate men and told me go play another mmo and men are suppose to be feminine. Now I understand Yasumi Matsuno in the male viera and why he and many others didn't like them shorter.
We ask for these things, but SE is favoring the progressive or political correct players. This is why we can't have nice things like these.
They will never change criterion, glamour, and some other stuff. Japanese devs and japanese companies in general never accept to be wrong and never accept critics from foreigners. They simply are disconnected from reality.
The mechanics from WoW Mithyc+ are just a damage spam and you have to do something really simple and avoid the affix, M+ inside Criterion would not work because dealing with a mind fucking puzzle+ the affix it would be impossible, to works it will need a rework.
I don't give a single fuck about housing.
1. Fix the dungeons. They're boring hallways.
2. Fix the glamour system. We need a glamour catalog so we can remove the dresser.
3. More midcore content, whatever that becomes. I honestly fucking hate exploratory zones, but if it fits the bill I will eat the shit.
4. Better solo content. Blue Mage, isn't it. Its best rewards require group play, which is moronic.
5. Cross DC DF and PF. Self explanatory. I don't care about the PF side of things, and it pisses me off that people only talk about the PF. Like fuck the fact that the DF is fucked because of Aether on NA. It's stupid.
6. More stuff to do in the open world. It's always barren and dead. Hunts and FATEs aren't the awnser.
7. More voice acting. We ain't much for reading yo. No seriously I fucking hate the cutscenes that don't have dialogue. It's fucking terrible.
8. Everything account wide.
9. Beards
10. Fucking fix Viera and Hrothgar you fucking lazy ass developers.
Have a good day.
Also, Xeno, the system in GW2 is dogshit because of transmutation shards. Wow's is 1000xs better.
I don't know if it's a good opinion or not but I think that new jobs from lvl 50(and any other lvl after that) should have sync quests and start with less abilities so that new players won't feel overwhelmed. Like you'll have 4 abilities and then through quests(sync) you'll get more like with any basic job that you start from lvl 1.
Island Sanctuary was close to instance housing. They could implemented that instead of the grind hell.
I also want a battle simulator for EX and Savage. I’m tired of getting through 70% of the fight and having to reset because we all constantly wipe to the last major mechanic (most of the time because one or two people don’t understand it and need more practice with it).
As someone who has played many games with instanced housing. Absolutely not. Sure it's convenient, sure it might give everyone a house, but I like hanging outside my house and see my neighbors (I know not everyone has active neighbors). I like to decorate my home not just for myself, or for my friends, but just the knowledge that someone may see it and say "Hey, this is pretty cool". Convenience is often obtained by the sacrifice of immersion and community. Garrisons in WoW made major cities a ghost town, dungeon finders made people communicate less, etc.
You wanna know what instanced housing will do? Look at Island Sanctuary. I know it's pretty bare bones and you couldn't place furniture until much later… but even when it came out; I didn't care a whole lot to visit my friend's islands… and even if I could visit any island I want, no restrictions, full decoration capabilities… why would I bother? I have to pick from a list of names and then there's a 90% chance I come across an island with no decorations, no effort… even in my ward there's a fair bit of that… and I know if I don't bother to visit my friend's islands, they probably don't either, so why should I decorate it besides for my own sake? Even in Elder Scrolls Online, I find myself not caring about housing… the most I care is the extra inventory space it would give… because while I like decorating, it's the idea that someone else might see it that makes it worth it.
Best housing system I ever saw? Not instanced in any way… it was in Star War Galaxies, and you could place, rotate, and move any item within the game anywhere within the house… and the house itself was just in the open on the various worlds… people turned their homes into shops, entirely decorated by them, with vendors they had to pay rent for and stock regularly. The real auction house in SWG was limited, but it also had the ability to search for items within the player made shops, giving you directions on how to get there; and this was always where the really good items were… crafting in that game was very in-depth and people could become famous on their server for making the best items. Everyone had a house, some people even made cities, there was an entire mayor system in place to actually create cities in the game that would show up on the map, people could fast travel to them, resurrect at them, etc.
If you want instanced housing, go make a private server or something… have fun, go nuts, no one will see it.
The Glamour Dresser 100% needs to go. Its a middleman that just doesn't need to be here
I agree with housing being instanced or something. because the idea was that you would have this neighbourhood and it would have people walking around hanging out in them. but every housing ward is 90% dead and of all the people i know who want house's are not getting them still. I think they should still be visitable, but the Ward thing did not really workout.
Yes the way Guild Wars does glamor is so much better but at the very least give us one plate for every job, gatherer, and crafter.
Here's the thing though, it's not that people can't get a house, rather people don't want SMALL houses. There are so many vacant small plots in every single ward, that nobody wants to buy, that sits there for months (mainly Ul Dah) and yet people complain they can't get a house. I'm just tired about this whole housing thing, and yes, I do think they shouldn't have changed the system if they don't want to give players instance housing. The old housing system was better, although you might potentially get scammed. I think SE should have added layers to it, ie trade contracts between players when selling houses, that way nobody gets scammed, and as a counter measure against bots buying houses, make it so that only certain rankings in a grand company grants access to housing (which I think is already there).
But yes, I guess instance housing is the way to go, look at PSO2, and all these other Chinese MMOS, just an empty piece of island like a canvas primed for painting.
no instance, and no on clicking the placard.
its instance so that means no one can experience it or see it.i play gw2, world of warcraft is number 1 on collecting and glamming your character.
gw2 does not even come close!
I agree that those people who own multiple homes need to choose one… but instanced housing is a mistake they should never make. You want big and cool homes that no one will ever visit, play the games that offer them.
The alt thing… I don't understand how you can have this stance… if I get loot on one character, and I get loot on another, I do not have twice the loot… I have two separate pools of loot that do not interact with each other… maybe if I had an alt on the same server and raided I could gear a healer and a tank at the same time, but that's just a convenience for you and your static, not a requirement as a player. As for not being able to gear every job, I don't understand at all… there's more than enough armory chest space to do so… perhaps even with making the DOH/DOL use separate armors (since there's space for all the weapons); is there some other requirement I'm not seeing? Even if you hoard gear, each retainer has nearly 200 item slots, and you can buy as many as you want with some extra sub money… I have an EU alt, and you know what I see? An inferior main. They don't have the Online Store items I bought, or the seasonal items my main has, the time spent into my main only stands to benefit it and undermine the alt. If we had regional travel, the only reason that alt would have is to sell items on that world… not even make it, because I could just buy the items from my main.
Any account wide progression would be nice… it solves my problems with alts… also the fact all mogstation items aren't account wide is ridiculous.
Glamour system working like WoW transmog would be nice.
The website needs work yes, but as some who has experienced PlayOnline……… it could be a lot worse.
Portraits don't break much for me, just press the update gearset button and resave the portrait, it's two steps…. would it be nice if you didn't need to do it for anytime the gear changes or you toggle the helmet on/off? Sure… but it's not a huge problem. More options for anything cosmetic, including portraits, is nothing but a positive.
Honestly, I bet a lot of these changes are possible… but they don't want to spend time fixing it that they can't spare. They should ask for a crowdfund of sorts, for the budget, to hire people to design helmet variants for Viera/Hrothgar… to fix the glamour system… to do all this stuff they don't have time or budget for in addition to the general content flow… if they're honest about it, if it gets done, even I would have no problem donating to make the game better.
how about all the housing wards there is but you can only make personal house on a handfull
I just wish my house wouldn't disappear after 45 days of inactivity cuz it feels like I'm being held hostage to keep paying subs.
Like 90% are server/memory changes, and until they find a way to unfuck their server code, things like with unlimited glam dresser are impossible
1.0 Had better butts and then it was removed from the game.
If the game didn't want you to have alts, it wouldn't make you pay a sub to have 40 characters by default, and a cheaper sub option to still have 8 characters…
Just pay the cheaper sub!
WRT instanced housing … here's maybe a parallel to what could be in the works. There has been something of a progression in NPC combat support from our GC Squadrons to the Trust system to all the Duty Support options we have now. All of that has basically given the devs the opportunity to try out ideas and optimize the system without dumping it in the game all at once as one big hot mess. I have to wonder if the Island Sanctuary is something along those lines — the "GC Squads" part of instanced housing. Yeah, housing shouldn't be as hard as combat AI for NPCs but the latter is far more important for the core game so it's going to get the development resources. And there are probably a lot of players who would say that nothing needs to be changed from how housing is current done except give me my house in my instance. For whatever reason on the back end/server side of housing for FFXIV, tho, Yoshi has always talked about how resource intensive supporting player housing has been. To me, it just makes sense that if they have been working on solutions for that then they'd be looking to go beyond what housing currently is as well. Who knows? Island Sanctuary might be version 0.9 of instanced player housing.
Title “Top 10 things” names 100 things
I can understand that Instance Housing would be a fair solution, i like that you can met nice ppl in the neighbourhood and show it off to other ppl and travel easy to clubs or photohooting houses, they just should add more Wards
A lot of stuff in the game feels dated in terms of that they put it in the game and forgot about it. Doing an alt has made me feel this big time. I don't know if they're stretching themselves thin or what the deal is, but they have a LOT of stuff to look over.
The point off GW2 i feel so hard ive played it 10 years and i wish some thingsd would be in FF14 too so badly :3
I promise to anyone reading this, that instanced housing is better, you just havent experienced real instanced housing. The apartments we have are not real instanced housing lol. If you play Swords of Legend, or Elder Scrolls Online, or whatever game that has instanced housing, you'll see the vast possibilities that instanced housing makes possible that the weird ward system completely lacks.
Unironically, how can something like Runescape or even New World accomplish more with their housing system than ff14. Also, why can both of those games somehow have better options for beards.
another benefit of instanced housing would be that they don’t rip it from your hands if you don’t log in for a bit
