The Lifestream is energy, a dimension of aether that binds all things on Eorzea, the source of life. Yshtola did something brave..and incredibly foolish, she transported herself into that Lifestream..but with no way to leave it she could have been lost to it forever. Thats why that spell, Flow, is more or less forbidden. it can be a one way journey, the risks are extreme which is why, in this case, it took three Padjals to rescue her….just.
Yshtola is brave, yes, but as time has shown, she can be reckless at times. Stubborn to a fault…and at times way too full of her own wisdom to see the dangers.

I like this game story and all, but I must be honest, there are so many cliche moments in it that, some times, I can predict exactly what will happen before it happens. This scene with the key being taken was one of those moments. It was soooooo goddamn predictable. Ascians teleporting in and out at the right place and time is so freaking annoying. I dont even know how the warrior of light can be surprised by this. I am not.
