  1. Lol. Astro will be destined to get a rework every single expansion. Kinda makes me hopeful that it gets reworked back to the neutral healer, and we'll get a brand new pure healer in 8.0

  2. One thing to note about Collective Unconscious during 3.0, on top of the effect being determined by sect, you also had to CHANNEL the bubble for the party to get its benefits. The bubble used to not leave the wheel of fortune regen/mitigation buffs. Making it super awful as a whole

  3. I have this feeling Synastry is on the chopping block for a new ability in Dawntrail. I personally use it cuz if you single heal the same target that has your Synastry it gives them an extra heal (but most players don't see it and if nobody sees it it basically doesn't exist).

  4. Yes! My MC's Lore job of choice….unfortunately I had to move to BLM as I dislike current AST. Stormblood AST was its best iteration, all it needed was Divination(While keeping with SB cards effects), Mana "Regen" on Card Draw, & Neutral Sect from SH to be added to the kit and it'd be perfect

  5. On Stormblood Astro, Empty Road and Undraw Spread were actually niche and handy respectively. They helped you fix some jank that could happen with Sleeve Draw. Empty Road would be if you got an unwanted Royal effect that you could not overwrite and needed to use one of your cards. Undraw Spread was needed since the only way to get rid of a Spread was to play it, and that could eat up the Royal effect, so sometimes binning your Spread was the optimal play after Sleeve Draw.

So yeah, both were to fix the jank of SB Sleeve Draw.

    Undraw still trash tho.

  6. I like the difference between all the classes i really wish that they focused more on improving and strengthening the foundation of the house instead of building new things and changing aesthetics

  7. Honestly looking at this it is hard to understand why people prefer stb iteration to shb one . Sleeve draw, redraw, minor arcana, seal system and divination all made sense and contributed to the card minigame rather than fishing for the same cards, minor arcana not really used etc for stb. But obviously EW chopped everything up and it is the absolute worst.

  8. I miss Disable. I never found it hard to use because I always saw it as another tank cooldown. If the boss was about to perform a tankbuster, throwing out Disable helped the tank survive with more HP.

  9. I will die on the hill that Stormblood Astro was the best Astro, Sacrificing cards, powering up effects, being able to drop a big ass 30% MIT on tanks etc was so fun. Fishing for the balance was annoying but I would've they rather reworked balance than the whole card system.

  10. Instead of changing every card to balance they should have just gotten rid of balance. This entire series of videos is like "remember when FFXIV played like an RPG?"

12:30 Basically the core of everything I dislike about this game now. Can't have any abilities drift because it's not about solving a boss puzzle with your abilities, it's about using everything you have on cooldown in a kind of rhythm-game-esque dance while you stand in the right spot. Lame.

  11. For collective unconscious, the difference in ShBs was which effect persisted after you dropped the bubble. For Diurnal, the damage negation persisted, and for nocturnal, the regen persisted after dropping the bubble.

  12. The one retrospective that I don't believe even needs to happen is RDM. The job simply hasn't changed since its release in Stormblood outside of getting an AoE combo and a rework to Embolden. Other than that, the job just has additional finishers added at the end of its combo each expansion lol.

  13. Why couldn't they have just left Minor Arcana alone. It was the perfect ability if you didn't have the right card, there was basically no need for it to change. Seeing it pop up as you went on to Stormblood made me literally cry out in annoyance to how it is now compared to what it was haha. Edit: Omg it's even cooler in Shb, I had forgotten the change between the SB and SHB! 😀

The EW change to astro really made me not play it again til recently because I just can't stand how messy it is. It's my fave job idenity of the whole game and it makes me sad not enjoying it. I am very much looking forward to the changes they make in DT. <3
