Tribalism and severe loyalty to any game or developer is stupid. The emergence of other mmos is great for the player. It is YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY, find the game that treats u well. Hugging wow forever isnt gonna help anyone and will only hurt u more. Try ff14, AOC, New World, ESOor even GW2
It's probably for the best. WoW is an excellent game that no one can deny the impact and legacy it had in the MMO genre and videogames in general; however, when the developers become a little bit too arrogant and confy about the position of the game, they tend to ignore the pleas of their fanbase , and as a result you have a game that deteriorates over time.
I don't like too much the WoW vs FF14 debate, even as a hardcore FF14 player/fan. I used to play WoW back in the day and it was amazing. If only the WoW devs would listen to the player base, WoW would return to its golden days.
And so it has come true the prediction I made 15 years ago when the storm of 'WoW killers' came onto the market. None of them did WoW in, WoW did itself in.

As someone who has played both I see no clear winner.
FF14 has better crafting, gathering and great player housing but lackluster PVP. The overhyped story is boring IMO.
WoW has more class customization, better PVP and better leveling content, Garrisons are cool too. I can't even tell you the story in WoW honestly as I never bothered to read it. 🤷♂️
