Footage was recorded in June 2022, this questline was the main reason I wanted to play FF14.

The voice is "softer". I do not know how to explain but it is almost like if you are talking more relaxed now. The quality is great. Also why are you spying my computer? I started to play Final Fantasy XIV some time ago and now you are talking about NieR questline on it like this? I feel like this video was made for me, personally… hmmm…
So, the questline seems very interesting, I am excited to play it. For what I can see it is something totally "NieR like", extremely different from Final Fantasy XIV vibe. Do you think that this could be canon to the saga? Strange question, I know, but like, this story could be in some point of the franchise in your opinion?
Great video as always, Derian. Keep up the good work, your channel is a very warm place for those who like this franchise!
Just in time for another great video man. Thanks for your effort.
thank u for this video ❤️
5:07 legion but ffxiv x nier automata
In PSO2 i think 2P is hinted to exist and also the color of outfit are judged in there. There is 2 color variant: White & Red in which the White variant sells more (expensive) than the red.
I still don't know the true purpose of that seed.
Awesome videos! It's really cool because I'm not a fan of FF, and haven't played the collab, so thanks to you I'm still able to know what happen. Will you also do the same for the collab between the gacha Nikke and Nier:Automata? If i'm not wrong, the collab was named "Outer:Automata"
I find it interesting that Annog and Konnog parallel lots of the twins from Nier like Devola and Popolla, and Adam and Eve, with the remaining twin having survivor’s guilt
Really good video..the only thing that's "wrong" tbh is that you're calling the place Eorzia, when the raid and questline are happening in the First, where it's called Norvrandt.
You should finish that quest line. The ending is… hmm… Its as depressing as Yoko Taro would want it.
I remember how much hate this raid series got just because, 'it's not a Final Fantasy story.' It was really closed minded and sad.
You sure 2P said she wants to destroy *EORZEA*? Edit: saw the Eorzea issue already brought up by other comments. As a remindr for others, Eorzea is a very specific continent in FFXIV
@TheBigDerian
So there are a couple of things that need to be cleared up.
The world that the NieR raids take place on is not the same world where Eorzea is located.
It is a parallel world known as the First. A reflection of the sundered world Etherys.
It's the setting of Shadowbringers.
As for 2P's purpose, you can actually find that out in the raid itself. There are various documents you can collect that indicates 2P's creation was because the Machine Lifeforms were trying to create what they perceived as a "human soul."
2P was basically just meant to give birth.
Also at the end of the Raid series, you get a coin that is called the "Arc."
This is a reference to the Arc that leaves Earth in Automata from endings C/D.
There was also an interview Taro did where he confirms this raid series to take place after Automata's E ending.
From here, it can be inferred that N2, the last surviving Machine Network AI, used the data stored in the Arc to create replica's of YoRHa androids, the bunker, and also the Seed of Destruction.
From there, the data paved the way for the creation of the Mock Machines.
N2 and 2P merged when both combining into the artificial Seed, which created Her Infloresence.
one minor detail you might have missed, The YoRHa control room actually displays what units are still active, though as each boss falls the screens go from a picture and active to just "OFFLINE".
My favorite 24 man series in FFXIV. As a long time fan of both games it was a love letter to me.
Yoko Taro once said "I'd o a sequel if they gave me more money"
begging yoshi p to give yoko taro more money
Mic sounds amazing. I love your uploads, and always find them insightful even though I'm deep in the NieR lore myself. Keep it going 💜
The First is not Eorzea, it's Norvrandt. The planet is called Etheirys.
Killing it as per usual Derian thanks for making g this
What's the title of that full version of that a cappella Kaine/Salvation you have in the intro?? It's beautiful, I must find it!!
Still annoyed that the flight unit not a mount yet. Still love the raid though.
nitpic…. this raid does not take place on the source, so it was never in eorzea. it on the 1st in the only remaining region, norvrandt…
Thank you all for the corrections and clarifications! I plan on finishing the questline and I am aware the questline takes place in Norvrandt, not Eorzea 😅
Considering how Anogg didn't become something that wants to destroy Humanity, from being changed by the sphere… isn't it possible that originally the thing that would later become the Seed of Destruction, wasn't hostile and only picked that trait up from coming into contact with the machine life forms, initially becoming only partially corrupted, but then tipping over completely, when the Red Girl goes into it?
Either that, or the false idol used the original sphere as a model, to create her Seeds of Destruction from, with this shpere itself never turning up in Drakengaard perhaps?
Wait they moved on to other world? I presume the worst that it was a hallucination !!
I liked the Raids but I still struggle to understand what the Story wanted to tell us. It felt kinda rushed
Your video is very good nice work with the editing. I will say though the way you narrated it is quite jarring since you pause at the end of every sentence of your script. You need to read it more naturally, Let it flow & have a bit of life in your voice not so monotone, Make it exciting. Make it so we Really Want to hear the tale you have to tell….
There is no significance of them.
This raid was by far my favorite raid in the entire series. I love the Drakkengard/Neir series and lore so much. It was such a treat to play with it in FFxiv
Another detail, you do see what happened to konogg in the quests, you go to the last spot he was seen, and see what happened to him in an echo vision. Weirdly, the scene of Anogg returning is framed strangely, its like how a death scene might be framed, with anogg leading him to the light. I don’t know what this means, maybe Anogg did return and take konogg, maybe that dust during the first raid was white chlorination syndrome like people speculated, and the “blessing of light” protected us, or maybe he just imagined it all and died alone. Its very unclear and unless they announce another crossover idk how we can find out. I like the ideas presented in this raid, but it does not do a good job explaining them. I would really really love to see a sequel though.
as a side note.. everything in ffxiv is too huge xD
As someone with basically no familiarity with the Drakennier universe, this felt tough to engage with.
Some of the early twists helped keep things engaging, like fighting against 9S, only to learn 2P was betraying us. But to me it felt like it stumbled after this point. 2P and 2B felt like they had overlap in personalities (makes sense, 2P was based on 2B's design), therefore allying with 2B didn't feel like it changed anything for the story. The twin in white returns, teases that stuff happened offscreen, refuses to elaborate, and even the post-raid quests don't really fill in the gaps. Without much ingame context for the white orb, it just felt like "okay, here's yet another godlike being you need to destroy before she ends humanity." With amazing music, admittedly.
It just didn't feel like the story wanted me to engage because I wasn't already a fan, which somewhat hurts the appeal of a franchise crossover event.
Possibly worse was the dwarf side of the story. The world of Norvrandt was one that was still very new to FFXIV players at the time, and the race of dwarves were secluded from the main cities of Norvrandt. Yet the twins' story doesn't really advance any lore about Norvrandt or dwarves, despite how much time we spend away from the androids. Instead there is a LOT of focus is placed on the guilt and anger over the destruction of the town, so… It's a story about the cycle of anger and about bridges being burned? But then it didnt feel like these themes were mirrored in the androids' stories, which left the twins' story feeling disconnected from both FFXIV and Nier.
Honestly it's why I clicked your video! I was hoping for something I was missing by not knowing the crossover lore.
Significance?
There is none.
End of story.
