This Hildebrand chapter gave me the same vibes the Vivi stuff in Heavensward did. Like, its goofy and silly, but it has a serious side that was heartfelt regardless. Its a weird combination, but it works. lol Mandervilles being aliens makes sense, but doesn't explain the moms. lol I dunno if maybe Julyan is a distant cousin or its just that the Manderville men have a type? lol Or maybe that second Mandervillian Godbrand escaped with didn't die in the crash but went on to be Julyan's ancestor. Godbrand doesn't outright say the other one died.
I feel silly looking this deeply in to this, but yeah. lol
