Been playing FFXIV for about 8 years now. This was the first scene that made me go "what the f***?!" Out loud. Her face and all that…it's terrifying. It's definitely a stand out in the game.
And then having to fight her in Holminster. If you run with a trust and have Alisae in your party, you get some small dialog between them.
funny that this is the tame version of these events, they had planned to make it much more graphic but decided against it. nothing was made, but there were story boarded ideas to see the full transformation and not a quick cut to the cocoon.
Didn't like how they tried to make us sympathize with the kid afterwards and in post shb, feel like alot of people including me didn't ever want to be near that damn kid again after what happened.
I think if there's one thing I love about Shadowbringers, it drives home not just How much this World needs a hero; But how much the normal people of that world need to Fear for their daily lives. You don't ever really see the impact of the tragedies that lead the WoL to take up arms.
Fun fact! This scene was actually going to be a LOT more disturbing during development, but they were told to tone it down by their higher ups. They were going to show the transformation in more detail even! (I don’t remember if they wanted to do more, it’s been a while).
That’s why the scene suddenly skips to the cocoon on the ground, they cut out the more… disturbing bits.
And this was just the start of the fuckary in Shadowbringers
And that my friend how u get ✨ depression ✨
already done with ShB
imo, ShB is the best expansion I played!
i wanna play Shadowbringers MSQ for the first time again!
The ending of the opening trailer where wol cuts that piece of shit down with one swing is so much more satisfying after seeing this

Hot take: Sin Eaters were creepier than Blasphemies.
When i reached here i was like covers my mouth glad they did smth horror w this scene!
Surprisingly that's not even the most fucked-up thing.

ShB just hit so different compared to everything before
oh no.. not this part ;-;
Thanks for reminding me of what I conveniently scrubbed from my memory
This scene had my jaw on the floor I never expected anything so dark from ff14
I remember seeing this and just thinking 'well, this is going to be dark as shit.'.
Do not play FFXIV at 3am
It was this moment that made me question if I was playing FFXIV or Silent Hill
Strong “Ed… ward…“ vibes

Man this scene took me unguarded I was "really so creeppy in FF XIV?"
I remember logging in to do this MSQ, I did it for the first 30 minutes and then had to log out and continue it tomorrow because of that scene
It was a "just wow 🙃" moment
