  1. As a healer main that's done ultimate, Wave is right. Dice's group doesn't understand how healing works at all and it really shows how a bad healer can get carried in content. Even ultimate requires just one good healer. Dice was basically spam healing and I'll explain why that's really bad.

    1) 90% of all damage that's going to wipe the group, is a mitigation check, not a healing check, so spamming healing doesn't solve that almost all the time.
    2) Going OOM because you're spamming heals is just going to wipe the group anyway sooner or later.
    3) If you're spamming heals, especially on a new fight during prog, your cohealer isn't going to have any kind of real bead on what they need to do to heal the various pieces of damage. As a result, they're probably going to wipe the group at least a couple times when it comes time to figure it out.

A good rule of thumb for ultimate and higher savage is that "Every piece of damage that matters is a mitigation check, and every piece of damage that isn't a mitigation check doesn't matter." That's why spam healing is bad and Dice's group is just flat out wrong.

  2. How can you be upset when somebody said they have your back covered?
I was very glad in my prog when my friends said they got my back
This group just stabbed the f out of this poor guy when he's trying to cover his teammates.. not even in the back. in the throat instead…

  3. One of my friends in my DSR static did the same "me or him", he was asking me to kick the Machinist or he would leave(scholar). Felt really shitty and i called him out on it, told him he is not a real friend to put me in this situation, and the thing is there wasn't really anything wrong with the machinist either and i liked him, they just hated each other.

  4. As a counter for a lot that you said, how in the world will you ever be experienced if you don’t do the content? You’re correct when you say everyone’s new at some point so why not just get them in and inform them how the fight goes? I started two months ago and have done a lot of the 90 content and it really isn’t that hard in comparison with other games. Just takes some actual physical experience , which goes back to the point of HOW can you get better if you’re not allowed in in the first place?

  5. Well I have raided in FF14 long enough to understand that the joy of mastering the fight, the design and music should be above achievements, it’s the journey that matters not the goal ya know. So I have stayed away from static environment for three tiers now because static restricts so many enjoyment of the game unless your group do something else outside of static raid like other games and real life meetings. Some of my close friends are former static mates, former because our schedules and goals don’t align anymore, but raiding with them was fun.

I raided long enough in the PF that those who crave fast win and attention end up being worse off in the long term because their behaviour will reverberate through the community and eventually they won’t find anyone to play with, you can’t raid by yourself you know.

I legitimately ran into a group of drama streamers that often intentionally cause frictions during prog to create drama for their contents. They prey on clueless people itching to try new contents. But they have done this so much that their reputation became stained and even their potential victims became scarce and they resorted to come into popular FF14 discord channel and start picking off random names from the channel member list.

  6. I saw Rin’s video on another channel….and man Rin IS crazy. Wave was trying to tell the guy nicely to stop wasting mana. And then he got ganged up with him and Dice. They were telling him HE was the problem. HE was aggressive. Christ.

  7. I understand the desire to overheal during progression for safety because I hate dying for no reason, but at least in the example they gave, that's not safety, that's stupidity. If you were constantly taking damage again and again through pulses or maybe bleeds, that makes sense, but otherwise, no. They need to not heal there. However, it's just one example so it's hard to say. It honestly just seems like Dice wanted to find a reason to kick him and that was the best way to set him up. Or Dice was just really high or drunk and had no idea what was going on.

  8. So did Rin actually fuck his public image that badly? Feels like people were just finally starting to call him out for view botting and now it has gone further than that. With tons of evidence of elitism and his general behavior towards the people he plays with. To the point of not even being able to clear content anymore

Like is this all that serious or do you think he'll just ignore it like he normally does. Until he has to face some actual consequences obviously

Edit: Supposedly he did apologize to Wave if anyone was curious

  9. Length of playing is not an indication of skill. Plenty of people have played for ages like Dice and because they dont critically analyze their own play they dont get better. There are players who come from WoW and has very little playtime who will be better than veteran ff players.

  10. Rin litearlly knows nothing about healing while pretending he knows what he is talking about to defend his friends overhealing and mana draining. What a scumbag

Also, I really don't understand why Rin is friends with this guy. Dice Arisugawa is on multiple blacklists for prog groups as well as reclear groups. He has built a reputation that goes way back before all this and it is why he kind of has to prog with Rin if he wants to play on this server. I've heard that groups will immediately disband when they see him cause nobody wants to put up with his BS

  11. This dude is right to make a video defending himself. Rin being a fairly big streamer, lots of people probably saw that and thought "wow this guy is a bad healer, I dunno if I'd wanna raid with him" when he was 100% in the right, his cohealer was garbage, and Rin made ignorant, dumbass statements about it.

Honestly this dude sounds legit, I've been raiding slightly longer and still haven't done an Ultimate, clearing current savage tiers and DSR on Astro? Progging P5 in TOP? Man I wish I was that good, I'm happy just getting purple parses on tank, and am still trying to find a group to do literally any Ultimate with.

  12. That "It's either me or him" nonsense is so unbelievably childish. I haven't witnessed this level of toxic raiding drama since 2005 era WoW. Soon as I heard that it brought me back to the bad ol' days.

I also agree with Xenos on this, this isn't elitism, this is favouritism. Because both Rin and Dice wouldn't know how to min/max purple parse out of a shoe box; If it was elitism, they would of kicked the victim healer here for underperforming; When he was carrying them and was kicked because he was upset he had to do double duty because the other healer was sweating balls to fob his numbers to pretend to look like he was really good at his job but in reality kept stripping his own mana pool because he has no clue how to play a healer properly, playing a healer in Savage and Ultimate is more than just about healing, you need to time your heals and barriers correctly to line up with mechanics and boss animations and know which heals to use so you don't over heal all while keeping damage uptime. Dice healing during downtime to fob his healer numbers, what is this nonsense!?

  13. One thing I can’t wrap my head around with Rin in the edited in part from after the wipe.
I’m no healer but… Complaining that a healer has no GCD heals at that point… Isn’t that a good thing?
I recall hearing before that that’s a good thing because you’re supposed to use your OGCD heals first.

I know it’s a downtime bit but even then.
