Genshin is not just another gatcha though, it's a huge game with a ton of different content and amazing exploration, probably the best out there. It is a good game (if you don't have a gambling addiction, that is)

Crazy to think that XIV community used to be holdovers from XI's community where the hostility and edgelording from XI bled over from 1.0 – 2.0's beginning. Saw this in real time as the edgelords dropped, though let's be real there are some jerks out there though they mostly hangout in endgame discords/FCs but overall the community has been the most welcoming I've ever seen in an online game.
I'm so happy for this, I'm very thankful as well for the content creators from youtube as well for helping the community and not being toxic as a norm but possitive and supportive.
I think it goes a great lenght when I ask for advice in a dungeon on x Job and I don't get a sarcastic response and a gg actually means good game instead of a taunt.

It's as I've always said, as any community grows, so does its relative amount of assholes. But even with that in mind FFXIV has had this remarkable ability to either reform former toxic people, or filter them out cuz they simply didn't like the game xD

These rewards don't matter, you saw some of the other catagories and nominees.
These are nonsensical and worthless. Gaming awards are as useless as the Oscars and academy awards.
I play both ffxiv and warframe it's honestly a toss up. Veterans generally love new players in both games. The difference is total player base.
Okay, first of all, Horizon 2 winning Best Storytelling is a joke. And secondly, FF14 has a much better community that most other online games. Destiny 2 for example. We have some of the biggest shitbags online. And some of the biggest sellout content creators.
Sorry to be negative, but the Game Awards are going to be a joke.
Heck, they nominated Sifu, a single-player action game, for “Best Fighting Game”, which is a genre that describes games like Guilty Gear and Street Figher!
There are going to be tons of memes coming out of this, and I hope the organizers never live them down.
