I see the most complaining in the NN. Then i say âthen put it on the forums or the redditâ and they go ââŠ.nahâ đ
Complaining especially suggestions to change are not usually made out of spite/menace. Literally the reason why people complain is, cuz we care :/ We love this game and we want it to be the most perfect piece of art as it can be!
I believe you could tell people potatoes are chicken and you'd get that one comment. I love the FFXIV dev team because they listen to feedback. SE doesn't, (and does the opposite), but the XIV crew listens to the community. I appreciate your videos!
Yeah, I love the game, and most of the people I meet in game, but DAMN, a small portion of the online community (the ffxiv defense force, as ginger calls it), is incredibly aggravating. It should be more than acceptable to talk about improvements to content, systems, balancing and the like, so we all can have a better experience. Especially with new content, so the dev team doesn't get locked into it being one way, and allowing that content to get boring
Stay petty queen, its funny as fuck.
i think part of the reason they listen is due to 1.0 but i do think they were just test running and planned to add more features later on for island sanctuary. i think you were completely right in the video talking about what you want to see happen.
âThe customer is always right, in matters of taste.â is actually the full quote. It means you sell the customer what they want, not evreything they demand :D.
Only learned this a few weeks back and found it quite interesting how this is one of the quotes that have been cut in half and had their meaning changed completely.
OMG when she does annoying people voice…. cho kewt đ„°đ€đ€ Loved the video. Thank you! â€đ§Ąđđđđ
SE doesn't listen to the complainers, SE only listens to the JP end and ignores the rest of the world, SE is fine releasing content thats subpar to just meet deadlines, is fine kicking the can up hill for any issue the game has with some of the times making the issue worse. This isn't new, this has been a issue as far back as HW. Majority of us complainers have given up shouting to deaf ears to devs refusing to change. They're looking at numbers and letting the numbers make desicions the majority of the time and trying to grow the number of the subs through making the game even more casual and more none MMO like. The game is what it is and its not going to change. If you stop getting enjoyment out of the game please unsub and come back later if you want instead of holding out on hope that things will change for the better.
The thumbnail omg đ€Ł
If we complain enough that this game is hot fucking garbage right now, maybe they'll fix it
I think the devs are fine with complaining indeed, as long as its polite and well thought out. Which is the problem with a lot of the commenters, on this platform and it causes friction in the community as a whole, they spit vitriol in a thin veil of criticism and bash the hard work the devs have put in the over the years while also expecting the devs to accept such harsh "criticism" and change the game to meet their needs. Which is like a good portion of the commenters in the FFXIV YT community.
As Yoshi and co have said, send them your feedback, but be polite about it and remember all the blood sweat and tears they put into making the game
I've been farming the caster gearset from that raid since last night (got nothing). I was so frustrated and upset that I just logged off to watch YouTube and forget about it and… this is the first video I open lol
But yeah I agree. And white knighting the devs will lead us nowhere. They even encourage people to give feedback. Complainimg is what made ARR possible, for crying out loud!
Unfortunately while they canât do everything that people ask of them, Yoshi-P and crew do accept feedback and constructive criticism, and still seek to fulfill requests even though they may have stated before their intentions against a particular thing, or that it may not be possible. You already listed a couple of examples, and another one that comes to mind is the expansion of the dresser, which if I recall correctly, was stated in the past to not have been possible.
So yes, please continue to provide feedback and constructive criticism. FFXIV is great but it isnât perfect, and thankfully the game has devs that are always trying to make the game better for all of us.
I think it was last year during the Endwalker media tour when YoshiP himself said something along the lines of not wanting to be worshiped as some god but instead given feedback and critique like any other video game developer. He's also said many times what you said in the video, that giving feedback in a nice and non-hostile way is possible and very much appreciated.
I think complaining, giving feedback, or criticizing is always important. And no one should intentionally try to silence anyone for it. And yes, out of every MMORPG I've ever played, FFXIV is, by far, the most receptive to it.
I think one thing that I've seen over the years with both WoW, FF14, and many other games. is that some of the loudest and most aggressive complaints aren't always the majority.
I've read some comments here and elsewhere that go "Well they don't listen to us, so what's the point?" When it seems that some of them don't seem to realize that maybe the changes THEY want, are not shared by the majority? So it's not that they're ignoring you, it's that the changes you advocate for are just the losing "vote" which is ok. I see stuff like this the most from the top 5% of players, that advocate for changes that would negatively effect the other 95% of players, and they get up in arms about being "ignored"
So yes. It IS always important to voice your complaints/criticisms/feedback or to "Cast your vote" it's also important to be introspective and realize that what "you" want, isn't what everyone, or even what most people want.
Just to be clear, this isn't directed at you or anything. It's more just commentary and observations about the culture around "Critique" I probably agree with about 90% of the stuff you complain about xD
Karen vibes, as in she carin too much about what other ppl think online. you kinda go off the rails, funny, but dont let it get to you. felt like whomever made those comments got under your skin.
i think the biggest thing that plagues western players most with their critiques is the culture barrier
like, japanese customer service is pretty universally considered #1 in the world. they WILL listen to your complaints/feedback
however, given the english westâs global reputation and japanâs own regional battle with online âbullyingâ, the way a lot of NA players go about giving feedback is utterly futile; shouts into the void
granted, iâve only been around your channel for a little bit, but youâve yet to strike me as such
thankfully, CBU3âs english localization team is top tier, so iâm sure they sift through all the pig slop and pass mature, constructive feedback onto the devs
all of that said, another thing folks would do well to consider is: the JP playerbase is first priority. xiv is still a japanese game and the japanese players are the most important in the eyes of the devs/SE. people would do well to try and nurture a better connection/relationship between playerbases, that way all of the feedback can funnel and filter through into a more concentrated form
dorks still havenât learned that lesson with anime/manga yet though, so i donât have much hope for it in xiv, but it is what it is, doesnât keep me from enjoying myself đ€
tl;dr fuck them kids
Dude your voice is so pleasant to listen to!
I remember me being one of those "white knights" – and I also remember me rolling my eyes because I already heard that the devs said they would update IS bit by bit with the comming patches đ
Its true, tough: unless you speak up there wont be any change. On the other hand, to me at least, some complaints sound like they come from spoiled children (no offence). And given that we're dealing with a dev team that actually plans ahead longterm (I mean, I guess they all plan ahead, but in my old games, WoW and GW2, it just felt like they only planned until next week – at best… though they both seem to have come along lately…), I think we should be a little more pacient – especially if the content is brand new. I rather wait a little for new stuff and have it be awesome than get something new and its broken.
You know whats funny? In WoW forums and here under WoW related videos, people complain about Blizz ignoring the player base' voice, and one of my frequent comments is "we're not fans, we're not even players, we're paying costumers" – so that part here had me laugh đ
The game has been boring to the point of no longer wanting to play it for now. Will complaining to the developers change anything? Doubtful, and besides that if Yoshi P. mentioned that he does wish to work on another MMO in his lifetime which to me is an indicator he can't fix FFXIV but besides that the ten year road map for FFXIV was absolutely depressing, nothing is really planned besides a graphical update. It will take one good MMO to recruit all these dissatisfied FFXIV players and dormant whales that FFXIV failed to kept interested.
that background footage was very entertaining to watch
listen to the console customers, they are begging for a personal dps meter, only showing ones own dps..
… the rules of harassment shouldn't / wouldn't change.., don't ask other players dps or talk about other players dps
Complaining is like healing, very necessary but nobody thanks you for it, and some people who don't understand it blame you for it. Everyone has the right to complain as long as they arent rude or target the devs in a personal manner.
I really hope SE re-evaluate how weakly lockout on gear works, that's my biggest complain about the game
Why is there a gardening feature in island sanctuary if I can't plant Thavnarian Onions?
Maybe the better question is why did they gate stuff like gardening and outdoor furniture behind a feature almost no one can use?
Why did they also gate something that pretty much everyone would be interested in which is Chocobo companion upgrades behind a feature that almost no one can use? Everyone who does the MSQ has a Chocobo companion but if you want to fully upgrade it you have to pay a lot of gil simply because you don't have access to gardening to grow your own onions. That's extremely stupid.
Events also give outdoor furniture but you can't use any of it unless you have a house.
Just because you have a Yoshi-P body pillow does not mean that man is god. I am sure he means well, but a lot of the stuff he says is stupid and players have every right to complain.
What other game would a developer be able to say something as tone deaf of "we can't buff weak classes because it would hurt the feelings of those doing well" and not instantly the subject of constant parody memes?
