Final Fantasy XIV has a new expansion coming around the corner, and here is a sneak peak of the armor sets in Endwalker.
Final Fantasy XIV is a very well constructed MMORPG, with a beginning levelling experience that surpasses any other MMO on the market. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have any complaints however…

Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

More about Final Fantasy XIV:
“Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG and features a persistent world in which players can interact with each other and the environment. Players create and customize their characters for use in the game, including name, race, gender, facial features, and starting class. Unlike in the original release, players may only choose to be a Disciple of War or Magic as a starting class—Disciples of the Hand and Land are initially unavailable. Players must also select a game server for characters to exist on. While servers are not explicitly delineated by language, data centers have been placed in the supported regions (i.e., North America, Europe, Japan) to improve the communication latency between the server and the client computer and players are recommended to choose a server in their region. Regardless of server or language, the game features a large library of automatically translated game terms and general phrases which allow players who speak different languages to communicate.”

Really all the sets look like slightly different versions of AF sets we already have had. They're all, "okay" to me.
as a veteran that has every job at 80 and seen all the artifact gear of past expansions…..Squeenix really dropped the ball when it comes to fresh, new look for most of these jobs….like Red Mage outfit is literally no different from 70 artifact armor…..and Astrologian outfit is literally a mashup of 70 and 80 armor sets.
I get that they probably did not have as much time to invest into these compared to pre-pandemic times, but sheesh….lot of rehashing of old ideas.
I really like samurai's because it looks like a middle ground between shogun armor and a business suit. Very official looking yet unique. Love the gold accents on the pants.
So, the summoned…
Is that a new egi or a spell I'm not familiar with?
When I look at these outfits, nothing really stands out to me. Unless I really hone in on details, I just didn't feel impressed.
Maybe they're trying to hone in on what makes the jobs iconic. Maybe that's what's underwhelming me? At the same time, maybe these just aren't to my taste, which I think is more probable.
The samurai outfit is a nerdgasm because it looks like Auron from FFX if you didn't notice.
the pld one looks like if it was made with low quality iron…i don't like it. Some are pretty much the same with some little changes
If the Paladin set does not have a squareenix logo on the sole of the right boot as an Easter egg, I will be very disappointed 😛
Compared to ShB's white mage outfit (which sent me straight to a nunnery faster than HW's did) and Stormblood's that went basically off the rails, this outfit is :ok hand: Male whms tend to get pants (which like longer every expac), while females tend to get….very little cough (which got *shorter* every expac) but ShB's gave us both skirts so, speaking as a male white mage, I'd like that trend to stay. x3x I'm tired of the bottoms varying so hard on genders.
But a video of you comparing all the outfits to see how they've all evolved?
They look quite good all, but honestly, i just want to see how detailed they are ingame to really see how it will be.
Appreciating the extra detail/texture we are getting recently on gear. We coming a long way from ARR relic armor.
“That’s a lot of red for white mage” red and white is literally white Mages color palette
White mage AF gear looks like a Gunne Sax dress from the 70s. (Which of the costume designers fell into Cottagecore during the Pandemonium?)
the gunbreaker outfit is something similar to ff8 squall SeeD uniform
If your Bard is not "spoony" you are doing it wrong.
They do have a male version for white mage but has not shown it yet
But tbh this is probably my favourite for 6.0
as a black mage, i did not care for our outfit
I'm definitely feeling all of them including my main Monk. The mask I gotta understand the why behind it but everything else is good. And dragoon my 2nd main yes Lord ❤️
I want armour like tenzen for samurai but you might not have met him yet
I like the Dark Knight Armor but the sword is a bit meh to me. I'll stick with the 80 Dark Knight Sword instead. The Samurai set looks good but I would've preferred to have gotten some actual Samurai armor.
the gunbreaker outfit kinda gave me the feeling of the cadetts from ff8
I definitely like EW's RDM set more than ShB. Probably need to see it in action before I can say its better than the base SB one though.
not going to lie i think the gunbreaker one doesn't fit at all would be disappointed if i played that class
The Dancer skorts reminds me a lot of Yda's ARR outfit.
Meme on Dragoons all you want people, but at the end of the day we have some of the cleanest gearsets, period.
AF (ArtiFact) gear usually varies between gender with several of the DPS gear and CASTER gear. So if you see an example of a female AF gear, the male version would usually be slightly different and vice versa…more masculine looking for the male gender, so in the case of the WHM, most likely, you'll either get a classic robe style with pants or just pants. Tank gear and Dragoon gear are not much different except sometimes for females they'll add boob armor, but otherwise the look is the same. Also, the Samurai gear looks a lot like the samurai gear in the anime, "Samurai Champloo". So I'm sure a lot of anime fans who have watched Samurai theme animes would be excited for that AF.
The Scholar is technically a "Scholar", but their skills and abilities are named actually that of a field medics in older times. You're more of a combat medic and the Scholar part is the reading you do to learn.
Overall the sets look great, but it hurts being a GNB main and seeing how underwhelming the second job set we get is. I'm not a massive fan and will likely be sticking with the glamour I already use, though the weapon looks sick.
But like most sets in this game, you'll probably find the best results when incorporating the armour pieces into mixed sets. Some of the DRG and MNK pieces have serious glamour potential.
Don't you know? The red in the White Mage outfit is for the symbol of blood…
and what else requires blood? The blood lily.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LILY!
They went all-in on the Paladin's horseback aesthetic, too. In the trailer, you can see the hook on the chestplate they'd use for lances
These look like alot like arr job armor etc but more refined, you can maybe even combine the 2 to make a unique armor set, just needa get them both dyeable
Isn't that monk set just the Shado-Pan from Mists Of Pandaria? Edit: the beanie (it's probably a turban but the color makes it look like a beanie), the palette and the pose make the astro look like they're about to break out into a hip-hop number.
Someone mentioned the "Amon Set" for Bards…and I'm currently wearing it in-game XD. And yes, it' all in the hat! Haha
This guy annoys the hell out of me.
I believe the detail you missing when looking at these armor sets is they are themed around the expansion(something I never fully realized till my second year in game). Since we're visiting the Garlics… it's all based on Garlean aesthetic and color's. I'd assume there is an additional theme that may play in based on what's going on in Endwalker, but that'll likely be reveled later.
EGG!
Best Red mage gear!
The ninja is female viera, ears are too thicc. Means gold saucer hairstyles confirmed.
The PLD getting spurs is an excellent detail. The recent benchmark (which IS somewhat spoilerly, but you can run it and then go do something else if you still want to see the score) featured a close up that showed them off, and it really works well with the look.
If you want armored Samurai, get the Genji armor from the first part of the Savage normal raids post-stormblood (or the non-dyeable Genta from the non-Savage version). All the Genta/Genji armor is rooted classical Japanese designs, and the drawings of the striking set is actually featured in the Encyclopedia Eorzea II section on Samurai (since they didn't have any other AF gear to include).
That said, lorewise, the Samurai SHOULDN'T be heavily armored, or at least no more so than a mage. The game doesn't explain this (and I WISH it did), but the manipulation of aether that they use for their moves, including storing it in the blade (Kenki – their meter at 52 and on – literally means "Sword Ki" or "Sword Energy" and is energy they save up in the katana), is lore-wise much closer to magecraft and magic than other martial forms (compare to Warrior, who uses aether in the form of just raging, or Monk, who manipulates it in the form of chakras).
You should check out the Amon gear set for Bard. Most popular Bard set. Think it drops from the Crystal Tower raids.
Toss up between Dragoon and Dark Knight for best looking. I can't wait to see how the ninja one translates onto my Mi'quote, as it does look nice. The Red Mage just looks so clean, and def digging it.
As a note, the spurs on the Paladin gear are likely to tie it visually to the collectors edition mount since it's basically a 'Paladin mount" this time around.
after all the heavy looking chain and tight fitting NIN armor since arr i think the new one looks great, it has a more light and classic feel
So Kro, as a fellow DRK main, it's my duty to check on this: you have been reading the journal entries for your DRK quests, right?
Cause if you haven't, you should.
As a DRG main, I think this is the best relic armor we've gotten so far. I'll be rocking that glam for a good long while.
Machinist is the best range but so ping dependent
Asmongold's taste is pretty basic, but at least he appreciates the martial edge.
I'm super stoked to get the level 90 armor on my WAR!
I was watching this after not really liking the relic weapons this time around, and damn, they bounced back so hard. The drip, these look so clean.
