  1. another important thing they need to do is fix the hoarding of houses by one player. ive seen wards with many plots owned by a single person and most dont do anything with them.

  2. I think every major patch X.1, X.2, etc. They should release a new ward in each of the 4 zones for private housing. That way they'd be a constantish stream of new plots for people.

The one plot in limsa was at 500+ entries. On what is usually called a low pop server

  3. Nice to know. Now I still have a shot of relocating to the Empyreum. Around 60%, maybe 70%, of the plots in the first 18 wards are empty last time I checked (Light EU server, Twintania).

  4. Man, idek if its possible, but I feel like they should just disconnect the workshop from the FC house. Make it so you purchase it from the FC administrator NPC and let members enter/exit from the GC bases. You could still keep the door that leads to and from FC house. But idk, I'm sure that'd be too wonky to work.

At the very least, I hope there's a way to garden and use outdoor furnishes on the island sanctuary. I've got no interest in doing it myself but it'd be nice for the people who want to and just can't get their own house.

  5. "An imbalance of what kind of house is needed" is an understatement. I'd go so far as to call it yet another disastrous handling of the housing system, and wonder if they're not perhaps a little out-of-touch with what the community wants, and the struggles the community faces. I'm on Aether, every morning I walk outside my private cottage (Now in an FC ward), do some nice morning stretching, take a look at all the empty FC plots surrounding me with 0 entries, left to rot, while entries on private plots are in the hundreds. Owning a house in XIV no longer feels like a victory, I'm starting to get survivors guilt over it to be honest. I've considered abandoning it in protest, but why bother? It's not like another player can buy it now, and FC's don't want it. Rant aside, I do have some suggestions:

1: Do more with the apartment system. They haven't touched it since they introduced it and it has a lot of potential. Different apartment sizes, maybe even a penthouse apartment that costs a lot more gil (They like their gil sinks) but is the size of a small or even a medium house. Also, what about a greenhouse inside the apartment building so that players don't necessarily need a garden.

2: If they're so intent on this notion of FC's "needing" a house more than individual players, perhaps consider removing the tools associated with an FC house. Put the FC Workshop in the GC HQ or something, so that FC's don't "need" a house to be complete. Maybe you don't like that idea, but requiring an FC to own a house in order to access these tools, in the middle of a major housing crisis, should be reconsidered at this point.

3: How about a waiting list feature? You pay up front for the size of house you want, and when one becomes available you get a mail about it, and then you have a couple of days to decide if it's a plot you want or not. Maybe less effective now than it would have been before, considering the increased population and demand for housing, but still something to consider, and it brings me to my next suggestion.

4: Expand the wards. The game has ditched a lot of its hold-backs over the years, such as the PS3, and I would like to see the wards expanded a little bit to include more plots.

  6. They need to stop doing lame updates like data center travel and increase the amount of LARGE HOMES ONLY in the game. Last house I bid on, 150 people bid on it. 30 of them were from the same FC apparently

  7. This is fine by me.

Sorry, but I always thought it highly unfair for the FCs to get higher priority than single buyers.
Especially since players would just make a singular FC for themselves just to get a house. :/

  8. Instanced housing. Screw the “neighborhood feeling” or whatever. Screw those tiny apartments (also completely full). This isn’t working. This won’t work.

  9. This only helps people that want small houses. This does absolutely nothing for mediums/larges. There's only one medium that will be available after this change on Behemoth lol.

  10. I think it’s a harbinger that island sanctuary is not going to cover the things that personal housing offers. Or, it will be that FC housing isn’t as critical because of Island Sanctuary. Makes me highly suspicious of what’s to come.

  11. I just wish they had 3 Wards that were for only people who don't have a FC House or a Personal House. Make it a first time buyer ward. I've been playing the game since 1.0 Open Beta, and I've still never had a house. Because I'm not interested in being in a FC, that's not why I play this game.

  12. It's a bit too fucking for late for this now. They waited long enough that when they open the 9 extra wards, the new houses are still going to have hundreds of bidders each.

  13. Im all for instanced housing but would even be possible for other players to visit your house if it was? We have a few large instanced areas like Bozja and Eureka and some cities but most instances are solo experiences from what ive seen in game. Would it be worth having a house if it was only limited to you
