  1. Actually the music is what got me hooked on ff14, funnily enough. I used to watch these minecraft stories (shout out to any Aphmau fans here) and they had a lot of the music from ff14 so I wanted to find the source… And here I am two years later addicted to this game and its OST like crack. It's seriously so good bro, from the feelers to the bangers to both, what a ride this has been <3

  2. Legit got into this game because of the soundtrack. Used to look at FF music for my D&Ds and eventually came across "Quicksand"! Loved that dungeon tune. The next song I found was "Equilibrium" for the Sophia boss and then I dived into the OST for more. Fast forward a few years and bam, here I am.

  3. I remember my first FFXIV experience solely because if the music. The guy I had been talking to convinced me to play the trial in like 2015 and it was around the Rising. I remember walking by Mih Khetto's Ampitheatre and hearing the haunting version of Answers. I just stood there in awe of it.

I didn't touch the game after that because the mechanics were weird (I had only played on console at that point and I was trying it on PC) and the guy and I split. Well, a year later some friends said "hey lets play" so I figured I'd give it a shot again and here I am 6 years later and obsessed.

  4. I've been an avid FF player and lover of the games since the PS2 and picking up Final Fantasy 10 at like 9 years old and knowing nothing lmao. Fast forward to lockdown of 2020 and my bestie convinces me to get it because he was also obsessed (and still is) and I've been playing ever since. However, i had huge breaks in-between because I'm just a slow pacing gamer. And that also changed once I got done with Reflections in the Crystal. The hooks sunk in and I barreled ahead to the end of EW in a matter of a week just last month (I waited for the hype to die down cause those ques were something.) To get to the point, I have made some of the most fantastic friends in that game. When people speak of the game at the end of EW, they might speak of a cutscene or something else. But when I exited out of the cutscene on the island of elpis flowers and turned around, my entire free company was there. They were cheering me on and everything because I've been the last to finish for 2 years! Even my husband (who started about 6 months after me and blew through the game too because he got obsessed) was there too. They had followed me just out of sight through the entire last area and wanted to surprise me.

I never cried so hard in my life and even now, typing it out, I cry LOL. After having played WoW for 10 years before that, I had been bullied and beaten down by people in there that I stopped reaching out to make friends, became scared to raid out of fear of being yelled at or stalked (again, because someone got so angry at me that stalking a 12 year old and calling her all sorts of shit was apparently the way to go.), and just developing anxiety about any raiding or even doing a dungeon with randoms kept me from enjoying the side raids and everything. But now, after EW and seeing my friends cheering me on, I can proudly say that I have started to run every single dungeon, raid, and alliance raid that I've missed and I can't wait for even more to come. Thanks for taking the time to read my story. Bless you all 💕

  5. I think the song that REALLY got me into ffxiv was the song for Shiva, Oblivion. I loved Leviathan’s Blinding Indigo as well but Shiva’s phase 2 and its jrock vibes really lit my eyes up and I’ve been obsessed ever since

  6. I was watching a boss fight video (not ffxiv) and forgot to turn off my autoplay, it threw me straight to 'Wayward Daughter'. Not a ffxiv/MMORPG fan so i was about to skip until the music start to play, hooked me right away and I ended up watched all that 8 minutes fight and cutscenes without having any clue what the heck is happening lol. After that I searched for more 'ffxiv music', got a playlist, ended up spoiled myself all the way to ShB 💀

  7. Being a music nerd and having FF be my favorite game is an absolute joy, I will gladly and unapologetically listen to this shit on repeat four times and you can't stop me
