We as the Warrior of Light are the central character of the story of FFXIV.
Recent years have shown us more about our origins and Endwalker showed us what a glimpse of the future might be.

VUN.FYI
I think we have 3 separate distinctions, not 2. The Echo, The Blessing, The Chosen. (This is all from memory, forgive any errors)
We know the Echo is a remnant of our ability to wield creation magic, our power when we were unsundered. However, I don't believe it imparts the ability to resist tempering in of itself. This was believed early on, but I thought we learned in the 5.X series, that the echo is a prerequisite to hear Hydaelyns perpetual call. And that when we hear her call, she claims us, which I took as imparts the blessing. Alphi asks Elidibus, why awaken people knowing she would claim them, which makes me think her call is more than just that in of itself.
The Blessing is the Traveler's Ward, that which protects us from being tempered. The Echo, if we believe to be a remnant of our full power, I believ doesn't protect our aether, which makes sense, given we see beings like the ancients fall to aether corruption, tempered by Zodiark. If our Echo is a fragment of that power, why would it have a quality it didn't have originally. So I believe, that it's a near instant effect, we awaken our Echo, and in that moment, receive the Blessing (in the form of her call), which is why we thought the Echo is responsible for protecting our aether. With Hydaelyn gone, I wonder if future people who awaken to the echo are now susceptible to being tempered.
The Chosen. These are the beings who are her chosen, her champions, and receive a Crystal of Light. We know he power was waning over the rejoinings, so it is possible, this condensed gift of her light (we restore to her some of this power when we invoke the crystals in 3.4) are much fewer in number in our age than in ages past. No evidence, just conjecture, we do know that the crystals we possess are much weaker (Matoya's Eye).
This is just how I interpreted these various unexplained powers and gifts at least from my journey in the MSQ. Love the videos!
0:19 – Hydaelyn (Venat) didn't return to the Aetherial Sea. Her soul was spent in the battle against us
(Source: Live Letter 68)
I don't think Hydaelyn returned to the Aetherial sea. According to Yoshi P during the live letter, when she said that she always held a store of power in reserve for that moment, she was referring to Venat's soul which she consumed during the battle.
In ARR, our character did have a crystal, but they seem to have written that out. The last time it's referenced is during the praetorium when Lahabrea says that it was the power of the crystal that we carry that protects us but I don't recall it ever being mentioned again. I think they have unintentionally confused the "traveler's ward" and the echo during the story and there is definitely contradictory information as we are told that the echo protects one from aetheric corruption (hence why Arenvald and Fordola can enter the towers in SHB) but we also see the echo shown to be an innate ability of the ancients to see echoes in time of past events/memories. They need to clarify this a bit more.
I also wonder if there are other shards of azem on the Remaining shards.
Hold on, what's your citation for limit breaks to be tapping into Dynamis?
