We have a lot of discussions talking about what could be improved with the game… and the devs have listened! Now it’s time to let them know what we think is going right with the game because you never know when someone will give negative feedback about that same stuff.

I absolutely agree with the monk and samurai changes!
Monk is finally back in the place I wanted it to be since Stormblood and Samurai is just more of the same in a good way!
You could maybe argue that SAM's skill ceiling changed since you have very little ressource management now and Meikyo is way more flexible than before, but whatever. It's very satisfying to play with its BEEFY opener and burst phases.
Also I love the idea of savage/EX alliance raid content like DR Savage or BA from Eureka and I absolutely want more like it in Endwalker. Relics getting their own content was also a good idea that works pretty well most of the time (there were steps and zones in Eureka and Bozja that were straight up horrible imo), even though I wouldn't mind if they put relics into the normal zones as long as the things we do are unique and not the same FATEs we can grind right now anyway.
Please give us more deep dungeons. I really like the concept, it just needs some cool new mechanics and some much needed critical adjustments (like traps and mob spawns that make the higher floors most of the time more tedious than hard, if they don't make some floors even completely impossible to clear) but I had a lot of fun with Palace of the Dead.
I also love the implementation of Mahjong into the Gold Saucer. I may not like Mahjong (mostly because I just can't figure out how to play) but I would love more games like it, like Hanafuda or even games like Texas Hold'em Poker, because I would love to play more games like these with other players in FFXIV.
More events like the Yokai Watch event or crossover trials like Rathalos would also be great. The Yokai Watch event is "gameplay-wise" still one of the best, if not the best FFXIV has seen yet and Rathalos was a very cool and unique encounter.
Love this video. i totally agree that its a great idea to complement the devs when they do things you like. there are so many things that being me joy to this game and its those things that keep me playing for all these years!
I just want to add on to what you said about having a "spectrum" of difficulties across the different jobs with an anecdote. In Shadowbringers, I barely played melee even though I had all combat jobs maxed, but as soon as Reaper was revealed, I knew I was going to main it. I was very surprised and frankly glad that it was on the slower, simpler side. It doesn't require you to memorize a set of stickers/sequence of mudra/set of chakra, similar to Dragoon, which was my favorite melee in ShB. Its rotation is pretty simple and even the advanced stuff was easier to learn than other jobs. With it being a bit simpler by comparison, I was able to grasp the job more easily. This meant that my attention was now able to be diverted away from trying to learn the intricacies of the job and towards more useful things like learning the concepts of skill drift, max melee, burst windows, and maintaining positional uptime throughout a fight, among many other things. I've now actually started doing savage fights on Reaper, and my group cleared P2S last night.
Great video, I hope Yoshi P sees this!
When I first used RDM this expansion I could not shut the hell up about how nice it felt, it's so zippy now! I got to the second boss in my alliance raid roulette, slammed off 3 finisher combos in a row, and went "I'm fast as fuk, boi!!!!!!" Also love, as a DNC, trying to solo-heal dungeon bosses when the healer dies 20 seconds in with with a curing waltz, an improv, and a dream. Sometimes it works!
What I like about the game is honestly a lot . The story driven narrative, how they handle the wardrobe (or at least most of it, don't wanna bring in the negative here), and something that I both love and hate at the same time, only needing one character to do everything. Love it for being able to just swap over easily to what is needed, hate it because my alt addiction doesn't want to go through 60+ hours of gameplay for each one (and I would want like 10+ of them).
Paladin is sooo good since the ShB expansion. I really feel like a holy knight, and I love the direction the job has taken
I LOVE the samurai kit as well as dragoons! not much for me to complain about really besides summoner being a tad too simple and mch having like no complexity at all
I do enjoy how they've made the fisher mini game and made some changes that make it more in depth. Also super echo is really good, it's more plausible to unsync coils for wonderous tails entries or even just for glamour purposes, it was fine with a few people before but now totally soloing is no problem. And fates, having a long term reason to do fates has been fun, they've certainly been more active with that and I levelled almost all of my jobs off fates this expansion going for the Wivre. Also I've enjoyed what they've done with PLD as a long term PLD main, but what I didn't expect is for WAR to feel just as good as it does, still sticking with PLD but I play WAR a lot more now, didn't expect such high self recovery after what they said about tanks at the end of SB but it's nice to see WAR having it pretty much up to where it was back then.
I like about the game the most, that (apart from some hickups maybe) you absolutely can play whatever you want and are viable. Sure, some jobs are more "meta", but its always tuned and promoted to have a certain variety in the group (% buff for roles, lb advantage if the group doesnt have duplicate jobs), rather than stacking the "best job"
A close second is that they dont have a ptr and good QA for fights. Yeah there are some bugs here and there (scholar shield p2s, cheese stacking of light/dark aoe on e7s). But usually its never THAT broken or mathematically impossible for minILvl.
honorable mentions:
– that they are even willing to add new jobs (its a selling point i know, but still takes alot of work! At some point we need to ask: how many will come?)
– the updated teleportation ui within a zone
– no skilltree or something along the lines/borrowed power/bullshit system that gets obsolete with the next expansion (also a major point why this game is balanced as it is)
– fun things (Hildibrand, Eureka [as it is now])
– no (or rather next to no) fomo
FISHING. PLEASE DONT CHANGE FISHING.
on a more serious note, i think the addition of the big-fish guarantee skill and other RNG-mitigation tools are a welcome addition both for people who enjoy playing with the RNG and people who are just fishing with some ulterior goal in mind (which makes the RNG more frustrating for that set of players). without referencing any fishing pool data, the big fish guarantee skill carried me all the way through the endwalker studium fisher quests' collectability without upgrading my gear
not to attack others but, I had this conversation where SAM is like a caster too.
I ask the person did they know the meaning of wind-up ?? have you played other MMO because they also have this wind-up animation but didn't show the cast bar, and lastly did you boost to the point you don't know to differentiate caster, range, melee?
I got the answer "No" because apparently in other MMO the person play caster can somehow move around so I'm just ended the conversation.
For all its woes, I really enjoy playing Ninja. Successfully executing its very long and complicated opener is extremely satisfying and really feels like a job that requires high dexterity to pull off. TA > HR > Tenchi > Raiju spam all while weaving tons of oGCDs in between, punctuated by the uniqueness of Mudra button combinations is like doing hand seals on real life.
Overall, I agree that jobs should have a spectrum of difficulty. Ninja would sit relatively comfy on the highest spot and I would be fine with that.
I truly appreciate the hard work they did on the sound design this expansion. As a red mage i just cant wait to get to scorch and hear that thing go off!!!
the spearfishing minigame is genuinely fun to me, way better than how it used to work. great chill way to pass time when waiting for a queue. also the oce servers are running great so far, i was expecting a small improvement on ping/load times compared to jp and eu servers but it is so much better so far. my monk friend can double weave without clipping its fuckin amazing
I personally really like the Summoner changes added in Endwalker.
I’ve definitely seen varying opinions, naturally since it changed so much it would evoke controversial opinions. But I think it’s very satisfying to have more phases that have a different gameplay flavour to them. Ifrit phase being slow and heavier-hitting, Garuda phase being weaker but much more flexible, it feels more like you’re ‘embodying’ the characteristics of your summon.
I’m primarily glad they felt confident to change a job dramatically, in the interest of serving the core idea behind the job better. I think it’s important for developers to serve their own artistic and gameplay visions to this kind of extent, and not overly prioritise sticking with what’s old and comfortable.
I feel like Summoner is better for it and I’m happy to see more people playing it now they’re presumedly not being scared off by the longer-winded rotation. As someone with a lot of FFX nostalgia, I’ll always play Summoner anyway, so perhaps I’m just glad to have it freshened up.
So why is DNC’s saber dance still not an ogcd? It’s the only change I wanted ever since the class was released and it still hasn’t happened. I don’t even care about potency changes or whatever, pls just this one :<
Things I'm super grateful to the dev team for:
The Summoner changes are something that the team can't be given enough credit for. They basically reworked the entire job and it looks so much better now.
The implementation of the super customizable UI in the base game so you don't have to try and mod the game with addons was also super appreciated coming from WoW to 14.
The company chocobo, of all mounts, is the one I personally give the team the most credit for since it acts as a ground mount, flying mount via heavensward, and a battle companion for solo players. All while being super customizable visually and in how it approaches combat.
The fact that you only NEED one character and they offer a lower priced subscription with TWO character slots per server. It might not seem like a lot, but as I said, you realistically only need a single character to experience everything the game has to offer. There aren't even faction walls to justify the second slot. It's just there if you wanna do something different.
The quality of work they put into the game. I've gone into zones and looked around, listened to the music, and even stared at a mob or two just to get the feel for the place. I usually don't bother with that sort of thing, being a 14/15 year veteran of MMORPGs, but there's a lot of zones (and dungeons) where I've just wanted to look around and experience the atmosphere.
The armoire. I love transmog/glammer, and the glammer plates are an amazing feature.
I really like how RDM is now. It was a lot of fun before (more than I thought it'd be; when it first came out I didn't think I'd ever play it because it looked confusing…and "math"…but now it's my main class), but now it's even better since I can do the melee combo more often. I don't have to save it for the boss fights, and due to the extra aoe damage in there I can unleash it on a pack of mobs; which is really nice.
I get overwhelmed easily from sensory input, and RDM is one of the only classes where I don't have any issues keeping up my rotation and being able to do mechanics (even EX).
I mean.. yeah SAM got more Tsubame and Shisui… but realistically only 1 more per fight regardless of duration (unless theres minutelong segments of downtime)
Great video mate, I just wish it was longer. It felt like it was over very suddenly. Keep up the great work.
BEAST MASTER WHEN Dx
While I have criticism for smn, I also am very happy about the direction they took it! The abilities feel very satisfying, and it's so nice to have so many instant casts instead of relying on slidecasting or Ruin IV/II. And not having to manage pet AI is a godsend. I love new smn and I hope they keep this design philosophy regarding this job going forward.
I'm going to throw in my 2 gil and say I LOVE SAGE, I'm doing savage as it and it feels so much better than Scholar ever did and I'm glad I've decided to main it.
It’s nice to hear some positivity for a change 😀 ty drak
I love whenever they give us cool things from the game as mounts. I waited years for Cruise Chaser to be a mount and I adore it, and I'm still holding out hope for the Static Shock disks from the Shadowbringer map dungeon.
I predict a very likely chance we may see a reindeer mount become aquireable during the next Starlight event.
i main MNK, and yes, i do love the blitz system. took a little getting used to for me, but now, i have a good grasp on it, and it feels great. i also sometimes forget i don't have it when i do lower level dungeons/raids and feel like im missing something.
I'm loving how, even despite most of the jobs having become more accessible over time and expansions, that most of them at least offer enough of a unique kit to appeal to different people, even within their own niches. While there are a couple which I think could stand to… well, stand out from their peers more, I'm happy that we can have all jobs be accessible to people starting out while still 'feeling' different to play by the end. It's something that a lot of games tend to have a hard time with when trying to balance as FF14 does.
For example, within Melee DPS, we have Dragoon, with long combos that flow nicely between one-another and an oGCD kit that feels good with lots of damage. MNK also has a long, flowing GCD combo string, but it's composed of less moves, just strung together differently, and with the newly redesigned Blitzes occasionally interjecting to spice it up, all with a really fast speed for people that love to feel coked up and pure speed.
I loved the changes to Bard in EW. While not perfect for the first time in a long time I feel excited to take my main class into content without worrying about people being weird about me playing bard. Something really basic: I also really like the linkshell system. its' so nice to be able to creat linkshells for different things. While we were playing story in EW my FC made a "Spoilers" Linkshell where people could talk about EW without spoiling anyone not to a certain point in story. It was so nice and I love this basic thing can make stuff like that possible.
Great video and agree with it all even though Monk is still in my least fav jobs. 4 things I'm happy for are current Warrior it is a blast to play and really does any role well. How rather then nerf Reaper they tried to boost other jobs, nerfing is the easy but worse answer in pve content. All the small details in trust mostly with Y'sthola in the 85 duty and 89 trail. And finally for being just so open with us. All I need now is Inner Release to turn into Primal Rend to cut down on button bloat, a Queen aoe finisher and for Dark Knight to get boosted up with some good hp restoring power and I'm set. Maybe a Kamen Rider or Overlord crossover event if they don't bring back Garo.
What’s that casino looking place 😮
WHM is foundationally solid, even if its MP economy needs improvement. The Lily system is an incredible idea, and if refined, would likely have me maining WHM until the game shuts down.
Also, DNC plays like a dream, and it's become my go-to for Hunts and Dungeons.
Long time RDM main (since it came out in StB), I cannot overstate how much I ABSOLUTELY ADORE how Red Mage plays right now. Do I have nitpicks? Absolutely. But good god, Red Mage feels REALLY active and fun now, like I'm always doing something, always weaving something, or always having one OR MORE melee combos up at any time. It's the most fun I've had in this game (on a DPS) in a LONG time, and I'm really really happy.
I'd like to echo the general sentiment of this video. Like you said, people can be quick to vocalize any and all levels of displeasure, but we are often much less vocal about things we like, unless they are exceptional (or if it's a response to an improvement of something we didn't like prior). Making the occasional effort to express what we like about the game not only helps tell the devs what they don't need to change, it also lets them know that we appreciate what they do.
Plus, putting out a little extra positivity is always a good thing.
As long as we're expressing appreciation, I need to put in a word for the easter eggs and little touches. From Thordan panicking post-ult to the fat cat in the pot to the occasional appearance of the Gentleman of Light in the dungeon, all the way to the anti-enrage at the end of the Don Mheg boss fight…
to the Extremely Deep Inside Baseball of identifying the ghosts you can find in PotD, some of whom are only recognizable to players of 1.0…
to the fact that when you're inside the doggo, the combat music is muted like you're hearing it from inside a doggo!
There are so many incredible little touches that make the game feel like the absolute class act it is, and I want the dev team to know that we see and appreciate these things.
You can't really make a video speaking your personal thoughts in something and then tell people not to speak theirs if they are negative, funneling people like that is never a good idea. Just let people discuss and don't limit them, if they have something to say they'll say it, I have plenty of negative over positive things to say about Endwalker and am allowed to do so even in a video about positivity.
You are right that people complain more than they recognize well done aspects of this game, balancing it out in this way is a healthy way to go about it, and I support you… Just don't tell/push/limit what people talk about lol I know hearing negative responses must be taxing specially for a YouTuber but that comes with the territory if putting your thoughts and opinions in the open.
Looking forward to more of these videos though, even if it is just a reel of SE giving you your wishlist lol. Very needy boy aint'cha, you make a lot of requests in alot of your videos even straight to Yoshi himself.
All I want is Griever in the game in some shape or form and a good looking gunblade for once…. Maybe 1-3 decides added to no mercy and I'm happy.
I personally really love the changes they've made to crafting and gathering over the past two expacs and patches. It feels a lot more streamlined and simplified, without dumbing it down too much. I find getting a high level crafting rotation down at HQ now feels good, without being too frustrating. And having HQ mats be removed and stats adjusted takes out a layer from what used to be a complicated cake of crafting. Likewise, the gathering system (especially for collectables) feels a lot more open to newer gatherers now, allowing them to gain items without being too punishing, but still rewarding players for getting good gear and melds.
As someone who has all their crafters and gatherers to 90, I am honestly very excited to see how these jobs go in the future!
2nd stack of Triplecast was a thing, that I didnt know, that would rekindle my love for Black Mage, but it sure did. as for mounts I am happy, that are in, I'd probably go with cool crossover mounts like Rathalos/Regalia/Bike and of course the Yokai Watch ones are pretty cool in a way too. My personal fav non collab mount has got to be the Fat Cat mount though. I just love the sounds it makes when it runs.
New summoner is the best this job has ever been in this game.
Firstly the story: ending a long and heavily built up story arc is hard and following up on Shadowbringers even more so but Endwalker was every bit the ending the story deserved.
Next the artifact gear: All the sets this expansion feel great and truly representative of their class.
Female Glams in general: The fact that most of them are NOT highly sexualized is good. It's weird to get new armour and suddenly be wearing a bikini. The fact that's there's still sexy options too is good.
The music: The return of Answers felt so amazing and I wasn't even playing during the time when it was first introduced.
The Oceania Data center: such an improvement to my ping and when I work up the courage to form/join a static it'll be great to have most people near my time zone.
Gunbreaker: I adore the aesthetic, Continuation feels so satisfying and Heart of Corudrum is a better mitigation tool than we probably deserved.
Red Mage: There's a rose railgun!
Samurai: I haven't actually got it to 90 yet but the Meikyo Shisui changes feel so good.
The degree of crossover with other FF games. It's enough to intertwine the worlds but not so much as to get in the way of Etheirys being its own world.
There's probably a bunch of stuff I haven't thought of but yeah.
The new Monk changes add a lot to your burst window, which I like, and spacing out the "holy shit how the hell am I supposed to weave all of this" to two minutes is probably a good idea, as with the flexibility in Beast Chakra. Still want my Opo-opo positionals back though… Bouncing back and forth like an angry monkey on something's left and right buttcheeks gives me the goody good chemicals.
Sadly for the last point, simplifying jobs down for the lowest common denominator has been their MO for a while now. 5.1 NIN is a victim of this I'm still very bitter about.
But I saw you on Reaper last night O_O
I like the 2.5s GCD. I don't want it to be faster. Double weaving frequently is already stressful enough, I don't need a higher button mash speed as default.
I like that content is locked behind story because it gives meaning to the content.
I like the wide range of ways to obtain valid endgame gear.
I like that housing is a glitchy mess that lets us do pretty much everything we want and that the devs are fine with that and don't punish people for exploiting those glitches.
I like that normal mode content has aoe markers on the floor, it's SUPPOSED to be easy and clearly visible and higher difficulty content exists for whoever wants a challenge instead.
I like the amazing amount of emotes we have and that they still frequently add more, I know some people may feel overwhelmed by it but it allows for such a wide range of self-expression.
As for classes and abilities…uh, well considering they ruined every single job I enjoyed with Endwalker, I struggle a bit to come up with anything positive to say. I like that GNB combat still feels like a DPS with some extra defensive cooldowns and hope it stays that way and doesn't get dumbed down to "it's just a tank" rotation complexity, I guess?
Am I the only SAM player who wants our gap closer and back step to not be tied to meter anymore?
sees draks requests fulfilled
Manifesting corsair as our second scouting class in 7.0
Drak you are the reason i did pick monk up as meele dps 😀 and now samurai im enjoying both jobs quite alot but favoite mount gotta be the dogs from Stormblood
What's the armor at 4:08 ? It looks badass
