  1. One problem is, the GMs are back logged so much and seemingly bound by restrictive policies that they will contact you and deal out punishment months after the fact and would not discuss any specifics aside from quoting the official rules in their exact wording. So if you stepped into an infraction unintentionally, you not likely to have a clue about what happened by the time it hits, and good luck trying to defend yourself.

  2. I like these changes. I do hope we see new tabs added to the pf to break up some of the different types of content you commonly see in the other tab, or other ways of advertising housing stuff if that doesn't work. But that'd be changing the systems in the game, not changing how the rules regarding the systems in the game are enforced like this is, so it's not the same thing.

  3. So if there was just a good Samaritan running things to help new people get their clears no strings attached, would they get the hammer if they went in and said "hey come get clears with me!"

  4. I'm happy to see the changes regarding strikes against your account going away with time. Like 4 years ago I got a 3 day ban for an argument that got carried away in PF. Since then I've made it a personal policy to not talk in game for fear of losing my account on a penalty that's so old. So I'm basically playing an mmo single player with other players. Without this change someone could have a penalty from ARR carried over into 9.0 and get a tier 2 sentence. Like imagine getting your account terminated because of something you did 10 years ago compounding with your current issue.

I'm completely fine with them giving me a 3 day way back when. I think it is fair. But there needed to be a path of redemption and we got it.

  5. Gonna disagree with ya'll on it not being "anti critical feedback". Some of the examples are direct and to the point, but not what I'd remotely call harassment. The best course of action now if people want to disagree with your strategies if you set them up might be to just kick them and/or disband the group, because you could get a strike for letting them know that strats aren't up for debate.

I understand it being about the "tone", but honestly some of those violations were kind of ridiculous, imho.

  6. Funniest thing is when I logged on this morning on my server Leviathan the roulette options in PF still had all the usual posts that have been the plague. There were 6 of them when I checked. Hopefully that gets squashed fast.

  7. I feel like a child with a gun now when i open party finder. Now people are being funny by adding " {help me} tehhee im selling runs" which is funny but adding that "we will reserve the the right to bann you" still leaves the bots on the red hahaha

  8. Me: idk I feel bad making a FFXIV video just like everyone else

Brian: we always need more content creators 🤗

You all are always so welcoming to everyone in the community!

I am also on Sargatanas and I agree with Chris, half of the party finder is misused right now. I don't mind so much if it's in other, but I hate that it's most of the dungeon or roulette category.

  9. I wish that FFXIV would hardware ban people who were doing RMT and selling clears for real, or in-game, money. Use the launcher to get the hardware ID of the system and then just ban that computer from every playing the game again.

If they banned anyone who did that kind of thing permanently the game would instantly become an even better game.

  10. I love how you can tell who's a toxic asshole or RMT clear-seller, because they're the ones getting upset about the ToS explicitly saying you can't be a dick to people or sell clears.

  11. I'm taking my second dive into FFXIV content creation so I've been trying to pay more attention to things going on in that part of the community. Every bit of information helps out. Thank you for all y'all do.

  12. Hey guys, i was wondering if you guys will have a discussion of the HQ gathering removal. This is gonna hurt the economy specially for low level folk trying to make money gathering. The gathering itself will now be uninteresting and diadem levels of boring. I am not happy with this change and im not even an omnicrafter, yet. I suggest people maxing out their gathering otherwise without Hq xp chunks the grind will be painful in endwalker. I understand why they did it, but at the same time its gonna impact the game a lot. Gathering in endwalker will be diadem levels of boring everywhere now. 🙁

  13. The effect on my server was immediate, only a couple of those sort of entries in PF today, and they just reference a discord with a vague comment. Yesterday the 1st page had been crammed with that stuff.

  14. I do think that direct insults and cussing should be looked down upon. But I don't think just being sour or having a bad day and just asking someone to heal better should have any serious repercussions. Or " Put on your tank stance". I understand they are used to a constricting society where people jump out of windows at their work places. But I think that they should be eased up on a little bit. So long as terms like Suck, or direct insults like idiot, or worse are not used, I really don't think there should be a penalty.

  15. Jazzed about the advertising changes, worried about the communication changes. The advertising is objective, communication is subjective. We may have the best intentions when verbalizing something in a PF situation, but for any number of reasons we may not choose every word correctly to convey that perfectly. Don't get me wrong, I'll always and only ever have been respectful to my fellow gamers, but this funnels everyone into either not bothering addressing something at all or needing to speak so as to walk on eggshells and coddle everybody we meet for fear of punishment for failing to do so. This, I am far less jazzed about.

  16. I kinda wish it was made more clear in the video that most of these changes were about transparency and that nothing has really changed. The RMT stuff was really the only thing that was truly a big update – the rest it sounds like was minor adjustments and explanations added for clarity's sake only.

They even explicitly state it's all just a reference and not a "this is the way it MUST be done" type of thing. I feel like there'd be less people being dramatic about the updates here in the comments. I highly doubt "tank stance" vs "tank stance please" is gonna get action taken against you. Or "medica II might help" vs "hey could you please use medica II – it might help". What they're more looking for is impact > intent of the action and that people aren't being jerks. Not for you to be the epitome of prim and proper at all times.
