The moment I enter into Amaurot until the end of 5.0 was the best video game experience I ever had. I can't wait to see both of your reactions to the end. There are little details to catch on the way during the incoming cutscenes adding a lot of emotional weight to the story.
It is a bit sad that a lot of live content creators miss those details because they have to balance their attention between the game and their community interactions.

This is why Emet has never given up to try and rejoin all the broken shards. Ascians were vastly superior beings, who are forced to suffer ephemeral and chaotic existence.. all of the scions, your own character, were once Ascian.
Omggg. Welcome to Amaurot! It was such a wonderful city, that I spent around 30min to taking screenshots. Then Hythlodaeus dropping all this delicious lore bombs, And finally understanding more of Emet's motivations <3

FFXIV (Shadowbringers) deserves to be in the top 5 greatest JRPGs of all time.
And now you see why Emet always slouches, poor bastard is tired as fuck after carrying around that burden for millions of years.
Love this section.. Any it's fun getting to journey with both of ya.
There's alot of truth to Emet's side. But yeah if not for the millions needed to be killed in genocide.
But if you think about it from his side. And he mentioned this once in the Crystarium. Humanity has waged war over and over. And he has watched all those killed. Thievery, hate, murder. Continually happening forever. For centuries. For all eternity. And children dying, illiterate and hungry.
If we WIN, that will continue forever. Makes ya think.

I think most people think Emet's recreation of Amaurot is a mind game at first. Which makes it so much more tragic when you find out that this ancient, villainous schemer in reality just made it because of how painfully he missed it and its people.
Fun fact: The name Amaurot comes from the legendary novel 'Utopia'… where it's also the name of a city.

I was one of the first ppl to get this far in the story when it came out, and got to experience walking around the city alone. It was very neat.
Not to ruin the revelation but basicly everyone is a fragmented soul of an ancient. There are more and more plot point where basics of the lore you learned in ARR and Heavensward become relvant to get good context. For examble Yshtola one told you about the balance of eather in the world and that concept aplies to the world of the ancients as well.
gotta admit it kinda sucks you never got past 52 in a video on classic wow i wanted to see you atleast do some kinda of pvp montage for classic like you used to but i guess now its a bit too late for you to return. and this super hardcore react thumbnails on ffxiv tho lol i don't watch ffxiv played it but due to the lack of pvp in the game it was ultimately too boring there was still tons of pvp in classic to be had wish we got to see you try more of it
its sad thinking about how emet wanted us to die at home /along with bringing back memories
On the whole ‘god like’ ability to ‘create’ I recommend you unlock the dungeons Akadaemia Anyder and Anemesis Anyder when you can after the MSQ, they reveals how advanced these people really were.

Does the explanation help explain why Emet always looks so tired, dragging his feet and slumped over? The weight of his grief and his goals weight heavy on his shoulders, almost literally.
Also remember what you just said about the gates of hell… Just, remember.
Emet Selch and the Ascian story is just so incredibly well written, nearly everything about them, with the exception of murdering billions, is understandable. Even the calamity the ancient faced was so insanely fantastical, I wouldn't have wanted any other ending to 5.0
Natsuko Ishikawa is such a brilliant writer and shes a treasure to us all <3

Now that you've gotten here, I can ask… who do you think is the best Final Fantasy antagonist of all time and why is it Emet-Selch? ;-p I mean, like… you can't even really call him a villain after this. I totally sympathize with what he wants… he's just going about it in a super bad way.

I'm really enjoying seeing your reactions, love how fast the videos are coming out – it's amazing how much ShB just grabs you and doesn't put you down. Your predictions are so much fun to hear and I love your enthusiasm. I'm amazed how Amaurot inspires this feeling of deja vu in the player while still retaining something of an alien presence, it's amazingly done, and the way the ancients think you're a child is so endearing. I'm so excited to see your reactions to the trial! A side thought, since you're super into story, it might be worth trying out the dark knight questline if you don't mind tanking – it's also written by Natsuko Ishikawa who wrote the main ShB scenario and it's phenomenally written, giving your WoL more depth as a character.
