Making the Jeuno Gear Look Good | FFXIV

This video taught me that even pieces I don’t initially like can have potential… which is why I must HOARD EVERYTHING O/

Today we make nice glams with the Ark Angel gear from the new Jeuno alliance raid c: I’m sorry that most of these are for female, but I hope with some of the pants options they might look okay on dudes? Someday I’ll make a male char and/or get better at including male options 😡

  1. Personally, I have mixed feelings about these gear sets. I am not a fan of all the traces they put on them. I mean, I think you managed to make them look nice but I just don't picture my character wearing that all day doing hunts and fates. However, I like that these DPS tops in particular make your character look super jacked up. I hope they will revisit this effect in future sets.

  2. Aitherea: I'm bad at lightning ok…
Dude I learned how to do lighting from one of your vids 😭
Enjoyed the glams tho. You're an actual miracle worker. I tend to like lighter colours for my character, but the gold and black one was my fav
The Scouting set was really surprising and cool, especially the 1st one.
My character would actually wear the Maiming one. I wanna try it with the Laurel leaves or the thorn crown (I forget the names)

  3. The aiming one and the scouting one with pants both are actually so cute! I'm unironically considering changing my glams to those now – not too attached to my bard glam and I don't really have a plan for ninja for lvl 100 so I might actually try using those rather than over-relying on the mog station! The maiming one is also beautiful! Really loving all these glam videos and huge kudos to you for making the alliance raid gear look good – the gear really isn't my vibe upon first glance but seeing that it can be worked into great outfits, I look forward to trying to repurpose the gear for glam purposes someday!

  4. A lot can be done with some creative clipping of body armors with odd sleeves, like with your first set. People tend to underestimate the mileage you can get with arm and wrist glams imo.

Color matching such a pain point in this game. Simultaneously annoying and fun trying to find out which grey on this metal matches that silver undyeable metal there. It’s gotten better but yeah…

Subbed though because I mean.. glam and dress up is half of my game these days. Hope to see more of these kinds of videos!

  5. I just go simple & devil horns from the halloween event this year & with the woodland wardens attire, all stuff I either spent real money on from the shop during that killer sale where things were off up to 40% or earned.

  6. when they're coloured they're kind of reminiscent of late 90s early 2000's era high fantasy armor. Kind of interesting since they're from FF11 which came out in 2002 back when fantasy mostly looked like that with really swirly ornamental trimmed plate armor.

  7. Thanks for this! Haven’t tried the new raid yet, but hoping to this weekend. Also appreciate the male looks from your design perspective. I play a cat boy and my partner an au ra girl, and we both appreciate your glam videos.

  8. What really sucks as a male character is it feels like the female version of pants will be more of a mini-skirt and tights or a short-shorts and leggings situation, while the male pants are plain and might have some buckles or something. The injustice!!

  9. the new gear sets look too boring shape-wise yet overwhelming because of metallic texture AND those insanely detailed spirals…they feel so clunky and hard to use, the pattern draws on too much attention but the eye can't focus because of the metal? it's just a mess overall but you made them work (sorta)!!! i like the striking, maiming, and healing outfits ^^

  10. Well liking the gear is in the eye of the beholder, but lady I feel obligated to tell you you sre wrong saying it looks bad! I've not played ffxi, nor am I that edgy or emo anymore, but I am of the idea of "if it's bad nothing can fix it, not even dyes"

  11. I had the same initial thoughts about the raid set pieces when I saw them the first time.
But I think the Maiming and Scouting (Both) you created came out great!
Sadly I don't have either unlocked, but love to see the amazing looks you can pull off with these items.

  12. Maybe it's because I like using armor more than clothes on my glams(I tend to use job-themed glams as a maiming main), but I always liked the Ark Angel gear when I first saw them.
They look to me like the perfect kind of medium armor you can put on a wide array of glams to either reinforce that or mute it, unlike the PVP sets from EW which their pieces either look way too bulky/its colors are too hard to work with, or are too leaning too hard on one specific aesthetic that it hurts its flexibility(looking at you, Fierce Tyrant).

Which is to say, I'm glad people start seeing the pieces the same way I do once they've actually seen it for themselves. I guess the thigh boots they all get didn't do them justice huh? lol.
