Raiding in FFXIV Party Finder Broke Me

I decided to try endgame raiding for the first time in Final Fantasy 14. Here is what I learned during my party finder raiding adventures through the FFXIV Dawntrail raids. Enjoy!

  1. I just wanted to leave a message to all new-comer raiders, you are always welcome! It's great to have new peeps trying out hard content, and even more to help them out. Don't let the poison tongues in PF ruin your prog or your day, there's always other parties. Consistency is what gets you through

  4. There is no getting off the raid train, Avy. I will turn you into a pentalegend. This is a threat.

(Jokes aside, great video and I'm glad you had so much fun with this experience!)

  5. It’s totally normal and okay to watch a guide and be confused at first. Everyone learns a bit differently, some people really need to see it from a direct in-game pov. However I do strongly believe that if you can find a way to prepare before going in the instance, for example by watching clear vods of your class along with the guide, doing that for 30 minutes can be more useful than hours of pf parties with inpatient or inconsistent players. Also if people are confused or not sure about something, it’s important to not be afraid to ask. The best time to clear up confusion is before pulling, not after.

  6. 7:08 "You learn how to read the fight for yourself without rely on other people". There is another step to this it's "learning how to rely on other people without communication". Just today reclear, I sang along with m4s bgm and forget to look for safe spot, but luckily I can find my spot by rely on others' position relative to where my position should be. 😂

  7. I consistently mention when I start kidnapping people that I'm dog water quality but put effort in. And 2/3 the time feel like I'm babysitting still. Skill levels are both objective and subjective. It just depends on what your context is.

  8. for me, the frustration is real,
    reclear [weekly reward unobtained]
what actually happens: phase 1 PROG wall.
also NOBODY reads the PF and makes an assumption and corrects the lead based on that assumption
in old content, when we mark MI/NE or written as "SYNCED WANNA EXPERIENCE FIGHT", people will JOIN and go "you forgot to unsync" or "why is this synced"
if we quiz them and ask if they know the fight, they respond with "we can just unsync it" insta kick

  9. Haha… nah, I know where my skill cap is, and it's definitely not doing Extemes/Savages when I can't out-level/out-gear them (and no way am I ever touching Ultimates/Unreals). I'm also not really into the RP scene (hell, I barely see or talk to anybody as-is, lol Dynamis).

So yeah, I'm one of those that's going to stay in the non-evolved casual path, especially when I've got plenty of other content I can do, so skipping some of it is fine.
